Guys, I told you i was going to the track and that I did. Pretty cool experience. I started out with a 14.5 in the qtr with a 2.6 60 and a 9.2 1/8. The Jitters suck.. By the next run i shedded a second off, down to 13.5. Now it gets good.

Wow, great job, Those are some good times for your first time at the track. I know im going to have some slow *** times tomorrow when I go for the first time.

It is just the true first time that sucks really bad, but the adreanline pumping is quite a rush. Good luck at the track man. Post your times as soon as you get home like i did

 

You could do a lot better than 12.9 with your car in stock form.

Drop your tire pressures, that 111mph trap speed is worth a mid/low 12 pass. Your 60 foots are fairly decent on street tires, are you breaking loose around the 330 mark??

 

Yes, I am breakin loose seems like right around 330. I should of dropped tire pressure to about 21psi or so right? But, man cut me some slack that was my first time ever drag racing on a true track. I am happy.
And on my 60' times i think they were great considering a firehawk with d/r was only getting 1.971.
The best time with a stock cobra that i have saw was 12.5 so i mean im not far off... Or am I?

 

If the best you could muster was 12.9, a 12.5 is going to be many runs, many tweaks away. (unless you do a motor mod. lol)

I was reading through MM&FF last august (of 03) they ripped the lid or whatever off their 03 cobra and made like 13 rwhp on the dyno... you should look into something like that.

 

You a good driver if you cutting 1.9 on street tires in a Cobra bro... GOOD JOB!! I wouldnt do any mods until you get tires and see what kind of time you pull in. That way you ll no step by step what was the best mod for ur car.

 

Just another thing to ponder on.
I figured in the DA that this site has on it and it had me running a 12.57 @ 115.12 so there is something else to think about. If that stuff really works.
