Default 02 GT vs 85-90 GT?

Man...

I had a real scare today. I was washing my car, I opened the hood after and let the water run off while I dried the rest of it. I went to start her up and she was spitting and sputtering..then a huge puff of white smoke came out...My heart sank and I was ready to puke since this is my 2nd motor. So I let her run for a few and shut her off, I checked the oil and it wasn't milky..so I started her up again and she fired right up and ran smooth. So I stuck my face behind the mufflers and the exhaust odor was virtually non-existant...phew. So I busted out the steth and checked all the cylinders for any noise and all was good...when I finally remembered how much water dripped onto my air filter!! Dammit!!!

So anyways, on the way home after dropping off my GF, this 85-90?? GT rolled up besides me. It was grey with black stripes & it sounded badass. Just from the sound of it I was expecting a suprise and getting my *** handed to me. I waited for some lights and we never got any. So we hit a straight road, I was half a car behind him when I goosed it to get him to run, he heard me and took off in 3rd, I took off in the same gear and went in persuit. I reeled him in and passed him before redline, shifted to fourth and I proceeded to put another car or so on him...damn!!! I was impressed by the wussy SOHC GT tonight

We got to a set of lights and he was rolled down the window and his jaw was hanging...LOL

"What the hell is done to that thing?". I rattled off the few little mods I have and he was like "God damn! Well I got these long tube headers, gears, blah blah blah". He listed a bunch of other things but I wasn't really paying attention because he slid to the lights and left a **** load of smoke, I was more nervous about a cop driving by because he'd have more than enough probable cause from 2 Mustangs sitting at a light that's engulfed in tire smoke...

Hahaha, interesting pictures here, the last photo is when I was dropping off my poor Iroc-z to pick up the GT. I felt lame taking a picture of it so I hid in my car and took it LOL

I can't wait to be able to afford something of the such. Was never a fan of those rims... bullitt style, right? My friend had an 01 GT Vert with those same rims... loved the car, hated the rims. My first mod on a car like that would probably be polished Cobra rims.

So if i have this straight, stock gearing is 3.73 right? whats the difference in what you're sitting at on the highway at 70 between those and your 4.10s?

Stock with manual GT's is 3.27.

My 4.10's I believe will be rougly 200-250RPMS higher than 3.75's at 70mph in 5th gear. I'm trying to remember what I'm running on the highway, I believe it's over 2600rpms, not sure. Next time I go out I'll check it out.

I love the Bullit wheels. I was never a fan of Mustangs but I always said I thougth the stock wheels were badass. Once I got to see them up close I puked when I saw they were painted, so I sanded mine down to aluminum and polished'em up.

sweet.

70 in 5th gear on my car is around 3500-3900 rpm. thats what ya get with tight gearing. Yeah I was just looking through Fords site and they even say the 17s are painted.

How'd you sand em down? I'd be worried about scuffing the crap out of them.

I sanded down the passenger side wheels. Umm, it did scuff them, but you can sand all that out when you strip all the paint off.

On the drivers side I used some serious paint stripper. It was muuuuuuuch easier and getting a good finish was 50 times easier.
