Default Mid 80's Monte

I was coming home from St. Louis the other day, with my girlfriend her brother and his wife. I get almost home and to a stoplight on the highway and am directly behind a mid 80's model Monte Carlo. I don't know what it has in it, but it has big *** rear tires and dumps. The light turns and he floors it. I stay on his butt, he starts to pull slightly for a second, then I'm right back on him and pulling on him till he finally gets in the slow lane and I am able to overtake him easily. I shut down around 110 and slow to 75-80 and he gets the ricer flyby in.

I don't know what he has in it, I need to talk to him and find out. I know that with a car like that mods are everything...it definitely sounds like a V8 but hell, it could be a 20 year old stock motor []

And I know, I know...this would have been better from an even start, but at least its better than my previous races [:-] I'm tryin here...

I have a friend of sorts with one and he thinks he can beat my car. Didn't they come with that 305 with 175hp....those cars have a lot of hard miles on them by now too[&:]

Yeah, 305 stock. If he is anywhere near stock he'll see nothing but your yellow ***

The Monte Carlo SS from the early 80's could only muster about a 16 second flat et. Not quick at all but i do like the way they look.
He may have modded his by your description of the car, unless maybe he's just a poser.

Really, by it's performance, I'd say he's a poser. But, it was my first race/kill vs. a V8 coupe

I just sold my 1988 Monte SS. They have a 180HP/225 ft/lbs TQ 305 with a 4 speed auto in stock form. The fastest stock test was 15.39 at like 92 in the 1/4. Those cars are pretty ballsy off the line though!

I seriously doubt he will beat you, if that is your Mustang GT in the photo...unless you can't drive.

im sure it was all off the line speed. my car makes about 230 hp and est. 310 lbs tq. its also 2800 pounds, 289 cid v8 with a 3 speed auto w/ a shift kit, 4 barrel 650 cfm holley, full exhaust, and rpm airgap intake. it can be a pain most street cars *** off the line but after up to speed anything new just takes off. im sure if it was from the mid 80s it was not performance oriented in any way. then again, you never know if hes modded the living ***** out of it and might be pushin 400 maybe 500 horsies and same tq figures. youd have to ask him

Yea that's my car lol. Don't worry about it he's one of those "ricers." He had a stock Civic hatch and thought it was the fastest thing ever...until I beat him from a roll in a 98 N/T Eclipse

Now he has this turbo 240 that he's been working on for years. Been bench racing with that thing for ages

Wow, that poor guy isn't living in a realistic world! And your Mustang is SICK! Very nice!
