Ok, I would like to learn all the mustang models. People always use the terms, Terminator, Mach 1, ect. Please, tell me their 1/4 times, weight, and horsepower. What could I beat and what should I owe more respect to? Any help would be appreciated.

heres the "basic" lowdown, im too lazy to give it in depth right now

fox (5.0)......225 hp stock, lots of torque, 15 in the quarter stock, careful if u hear big cam. but generally you, being an LT1 i assume, should have no problem with mildly modded ones.

terminator.......03-04 cobra, 4.6L 4v per cylinder V8, eaton (roots) supercharged, about 370 to the rear wheels, 425 to the crank, mid-high 12's in the quarter, devastating from a roll. u gotta spray to play.

mach1-285 ish to the rear wheels, 13.1's ish in the 1/4.

s197 GT........05 and up mustangs. put down an average of 270 to the ground. mid-low 13's with a decent driver, average driver mid-high 13's.

anything in particular you wanna know? more specific?

How do you distinguish a Mach 1? Anything dangerous in the 94-98?

mach1's are distinguished mainly by a shaker hood (black plastic scoop poking out), black hood stripe, black side stripes, black spoiler, and those special wheels.

not much dangerous in a 96-98 GT, unless heavily modded.
94-95, still had the 5.0 motor.

15 in the 1/4?!?!?!? Are you smoking crack? I got a 1987 hatch to run 14.0@96 BONE STOCK, pulled the sway bar and silencer, bypass intake coolant and bump the timing and that damn thing ran mid 13's. This wasn't a freak, back then they were all running that way. I have a buddy right now with a 1992 hatch 5spdwith 3.55's and no silencer, 120k miles on it, it ran 13.9 with just that gear and silencer removed.

My stock '85 GT ran upper 14's, there hasn't been a Fox 5spd in the 15's since 1984.

The mach's have a black stripe on the hood, black spoiler, and shaker hood. Mach's also use the 4v 4.6 instead of the regular GT's 2v, so they respond well to mods. There was also a Bullit mustang, but thats just a 01 GT with some badging and 10 more HP. 94-98 cobra's...the 94-95 make about 245rwhp and the 96-98 make about 265.

ditto, mine ran14.3 bone stock, it will be around mid 13s next summer with a just a couple of mods (still with the stock untouched motor). i think if you should fear anything rolling up next to you on the street it's a fox, because you never know what they've got in it, they're the most molested cars you could ever find.

I wonder if any of the cars mentioned above will have serious collector car status in 25 years? The Mach 1 & the Bullit were limited runs right? Cobras are a little more numerous but have alot of street credit. My car was a 3 yr run with only 25000 sold and I have a one year only color. I bet most of the guys that bought 69 era hot rods wish they would have held onto them now.
