ok, well i was driving in ann arbor around 2:30 this past morning, on my way home when i saw a car that resembled my friend zac's. he drives a 2003 Eclipse GTS 5 speed. (i have a 1998 auto GT) sure enough i quickly caught up and it was him. i started joking around with him, tailgating him and what not and then he took off... we got up to about 110 and he realized it was me lol. he told me at first he thought i was some dumb ricer... what an insult!! haha. well i went back to his house and he said "lets run em" ok... you dont have to ask me twice so we go out on a road called Austin Rd... there is a spot down there where from bridge to bridge it is a 1/4 mile. so it was a good to spot to do it. since he had a manual and i have an auto i get to do the honor of doing the 3 honks. first run we had i got a fairly good jump and had about 2 cars on him by 45 or 50, and eventually held off to beat him by about 2 1/2 cars... so we get back and he tells me he missed 2nd ok.... we'll go again then... second time same result... i beat him this time by 2 1/2 to 3 cars... and then he says he didnt good traction because we started on the bridge...so i told him i would do it one more time, then we were leaving. this time we started right past the bridge once again.. im sure u can guess... i put about 3 cars on him up to about 110, so even past the 1/4 mile mark this time...he actually got an ok launch this time, so when we pulled over i thought he was just going to say good race... but sure enough, something else came up... this time he was telling me his tires were bald, and that he needed new ones... i told him to keep in mind i had shi* tires as well. i just shrugged... then he said lets go from a 20 mph roll...i agreed... he ended up beating me on the roll by about 1/2 a car up to 110 again...(i was gaining but he braked bc he said he missed 5th) but sure enough since he won, nothing went wrong when he gets his new tires were doing it again to see if he can make up 3 car lengths on me, and my buddy is video taping it... so ill post it for all of you!! sorry so long!

eh definitly wasnt one of the top 3 most intelligent things i have ever done... i'm definitly done with street racing like that... just not smart or safe.. ill still mess around with people at lights and stuff, but definitly no more of that stupidity...

Yeah the eclipse doesnt seem to be very fast for some reason, no matter what trim.

 

haha yea lucky for me i didnt get one... i almost did... and even tho its my friend i thought the same thing "do all ricers make excuses?" lol, he says he ran a 15.07 at the track, and says he has a 60 ft. time of under 2 seconds... but i blew his doors off on the 60 guarenteed, and i know there i no way in hell i have under a 2 second 60 ft. time... lol
