A stockSTI running high 12's is'nt gonna happen, They run low to mid 13's, and I would think a new edge with a 75 shot and gears has a chance. It won't be an asswhippin' either way. The 300ZX twin turbo is a light two seater and ifthe Z isputting 350 to the ground that Z should be a low to mid 12 second runner consistantly and yes the GT will get owned.

300ZX weights like 3600 pounds. They are extremely heavy for their size.

There were two types made. The 300Zx twin turbo was a shorter car compared to the standard 4 seater 300ZX. I don't know what the exact curb weight is but are you referring to the 4 seater when you stated 3600lbs?

Curb Weight: 3474 lbs.

My bad that is the weight according to Edmunds. Still over 200 pounds more than a New Edge. Not a big difference but it helps[8D]

perhaps, but it would take little enough work to get into the 12s that someone who didnt know what to look for could be told it was stock, and believe it.

i am far more familiar with the abilities of the evo than i am the STi, but i know that the evo responds very well at first to very simple mods...and with a cheap MBC, an evo 8 is a 12 second car, and i would think that would be true of the sti...no?

I'm not an expert on the Mitsu/Subie rally racers, but if the cars are running low 13's stock I would think with minimal mods they would see high 12's.. We all know they can launch great with that AWD, but in a roll race you lose alot of ponies through the AWD drivetrain and they tend to run out of steam in the triple digits.....I had an encounter with a new Evo 8 a few months back on the freeway and it got ugly for him.....yeah I'm sure he was stock , but on a high speed roll they need quite a bit more mods than they would for some short dig runs....IMO
