there also about 40ish grand...the price of a shelby (well, the msrp) but the gt500 should come down in price. I know i would take a gt500 over that thing.

I wouldnt mind the new SRT8 magnum. Drove one during a Jeep/Chryslet/Dodge test drive at belmont racetrack near where I live. Man that thing handles turns at 70 that my car couldnt take at 35. [:@][:@]

Oh ya and my friend got kicked out of that test drive for taking the crossfire srt-6 and doing donuts on the course with it. He hit ever cone for like 60 feet and smoked up the whole place. The techs there were like "Sir, please step out of the vehicle, and off the premises"

I consider both cars to be in different classes. The Shelby is a badass pony car,the SRT8 is a badass family car,I would go for the Shelby but if I had kids to haul around then the choice would be obvious.

hold up man they are fast but not nasty, they weigh well over 4000 lbs and the auto makes it less effiicient, they run a high 13 stock, so the death while still honorable was not in vain.

Those srt-8's are nasty. but unfortunantly they don't com with a manual. think of what that baest would be like with a stinkin 6 speed!! I'd take one of the new GT's over the srt-8

dont feel bad, hell get his azz handed this year.

I recall a kid in an SRT Neon without the SRT Badging, that was modded and smashed a SRT8 300C.

I have handed a 300c his rear, SRT 8 have seen em on the lot, not on the street, and I believe they have AWD OPTION!

If dodge ever puts that engine in a mid sized car they'll be onto something. The challenger will likely be very heavy when it comes out next year. But I can't wait to see the domestics get a 3 way pony war started again.

Yep.....time for the SRT-8 expert to come and play.

A bottom rung SRT-8 300c weighs in at just over 4,000lbs, something 4,060 something. Not well over 4,000. My father's has every option on it, weighs just over 4100lbs I believe.

The 5 speed automatic is fully controllable because of the trip tronic slap shifter, not to mention the automatic is EXTREMELY efficient. Same drivetrain loss as any manual. Only downfalls are the extra weight and the lowish stall on the stock converter. Shifts and downshifts are done in milliseconds. There is no AWD SRT-8 as far as I know, 300Cs adn Charger R/Ts you can get with AWD nowadays.

The SRT-8 Charger and 300C are capable of anywhere 12.8xxs to 13.1xxs, depending on driver and track.

Please educate yourself, these are amazing vehicles. Anything that can run a high twelve at 4000 pounds with a 3.10:1 gear ratio back is a force to be reconed with.
