So I am rolling down Rt. 460 on the way to work and i come to a red light, im first in line. This guy in an Eclipse GST pulls up next to me and revs up, i cant help but laugh at him. I hear his little 4 banger rev up (sounds like a rubberband) and his little stock turbo spool up and blow off. [sm=forgetit.gif] I laugh some more. We left the stop light with a "little" tire spining and i just utterly embarass this guy. He follows me on to the on ramp getting on I-581. I punch it. The ramp is NOT a clover leaf..it is straight so i can just fly up this ramp. By the time i got to the top i was running about 70 (starting at about 15 when i turned on to it). I get on the interstate and keep it at around 65-70 mph. Then here he comes again, right back beside of me. Obviously he thought that if we started out rolling his turbo would spool faster. But then again his turbo made no diff b/c im still turning lik 150hp more than he is even w/ the turbo...lol...so we punched it again, well the turbo helped him a little more but not enuff. I droped it into 3rd gear and he hung with me 1/2 the way thru 3rd gear and then i just left him. You'd think this would be enuff for him, but no, this guy is hard headed, he comes back for more. [sm=badidea.gif] So this time i give him a 3 car start on me before i punched it. But i still passed him when i was runnin bout 120mph. I dropped to 3rd gear (tops at 111) and hit 4th, waited in 4th till about 5 grand and shifted. I passed him and kept going (bet that made him feel good). I finnaly let off of it at about 145. Needless to say being only 17 i have never gone that fast before and i was nervous as hell but it was a great adrenaline rush. Just lucky i didnt pass a cop, lol...GOTTA LOVE THE MACH1!!!! nice kill...Eclipse's are one of the most hated cars for me...everyone around here thinks they are fast with one...

 

Yea i hear you on that one. I met the guy later and we atlk some now when we see each other. But from what i hear he went and got another Eclipse rumored to be pushing 420hp AWD w/ NOS. If that is true then i dont care what you think, that is just down right fast cause his car is pretty light weight.[sm=noooo.gif][sm=forgetit.gif][sm=badidea.gif]

 

Good kill I had an Eclispe try to race me last night...it looked new with exhaust. I'm not sure if it was a GST or not (didn't sound like a turbo) but I could hear a whining/whistling sound. It's hard to hear anything over my exhaust , but I beat him pretty good.

 

well, i was gonna nice kill but, instead i have to say good KILLS. haha. they never learn. thats the bottom line(which makes it fun for us of course), but keep killing em....eventually theyll get the idea.

 

when will they learn. i hang out with a few import guys that ive known since before we were driving and theyre cool but some of their friends are just dumb, you beat a built civic and their like "youve got 4 more cylinders!" blah blah cry cry. but when they beat you in an STI its the best thing in the world and they try to rub it in. i had one guy give me **** for not putting 50 bucks down to race his built STI, my car just has exhaust. its obvious hed win so theres no point to bet, and i didnt even feel like racing that night. but i was just like "i know your cars faster, its faster when its stock, im not stupid" ****er gave me the finger and sped off. those are the guys that **** me off.

 

You sure its an Eclipse? My friend has a 420hp TSI w/ nitrous.

 

Yea im sure, ive seen it. Im positive it is an eciplse...it is a 99' GST AWD and the whole car has been re-done in EVO. It is fast as *****.

 

um.. I'm not a mitsu guy but I don't think 99's ever had an AWD...

 

yeah they did. GSX's. 2.0 turboed, awd. quick little f**kers. '99 was the last year of the 2nd gen body style....'00 they went to the new one. i think......
