Default LS1 Powered blazer?

I took a buddy down to meet his friends for a dyno session (tuning a couple supras) and a bunch of other people showed up at the shop. On of them had a newer model S10 based blazer there witha LS1 drivetrain swap in it. He said the motor was stock, and when he popped the hood there was a fairly good size hairdryer in the drivers side fenderwell.

According to him, this blazer runs 10.2s in the 1/4, and weighs in around 4100 pounds. Seeing that it looked as if it had a fairly stock suspension, my math says it needs something like 650+ WHP to run a 10.2?

Is the guy bull****ing? He did a few drivebys by the shop (videos will be posted) but its hard to tell on ****ty DD tires. I assume he was running a full slick for the 10.2

But a 10.2 just seems like a pretty fast time for said setup. How much power would a LS1 motor + turbo make?

It's possible. He'd most definitely need slicks though. As for power, depending on boost 500+whp is easily attainable w/ turboed LS1. 10.2 seems a little optimistic to me, but I wouldn't be so quick to throw BS flag, either.

No and no, its from missouri and its tan.

Were not talking a built LS1 here either, according to him its stock.

I was just thinking along the lines of power to weight.... according to him its 4100 pounds with the drivetrain swap. Seems to me you would need well over say 650 WHP to run a 10.2 even on full slicks?

I can definatly see it if the motor wasn't stock, but it didn't sound as if it had a cam in it, and he did say the motor was stock.

if it has the stock bottom end, i doubt he is pushing the RWHP needed for a low 10 second pass...especially since this thing is a tank..just my .02

I find it pretty hard to believe that he's running enough boost on a stock LS1 to make 650+ hp. Thats pretty far fetched.

You are talking about Blakes Blazer, which resides in Springfeild. It is true, it has busted a 10, but its norm is in the 11's.

I'm from Joplin, MO BTW.
