I know first hand what a gear swap on an fbod does... if done right

my bracket racing friend with the 350Z also has a A496 LT1 formula fire chicken....
he ran consistant 14.1's and 14.2's with a catback and DR's

he put on a yank stall, like 3500 I think.
swapped up to 3.73's.
tranny cooler.
and a 9" rear.

13.4's - 13.6'sall day

after seeing that car pick up that much... I would say go 9"/stall/cooler/3.73's
and then go from there...

For a converter, look into Yank or Fuddle. If you want I can get you my complete mod list and he can have a mid-high 11 second car for about $3000+-

He is scared of the juice, but I can definatly see him getting a cam/exhaust/lid/boltons etc.

Please send me a mod list.

And what about hte coated headers vs uncoated? I really would hate to see him rust the **** right out from under the car/

I would go coated, yea they cost more but they don't rust as fast. I have Flowtechs and alot of people think they are cheap, but so far (3 years) I have had no troubles. I get the mod list tonight

Didn't Fuddle go out of business?
While I have no personal experience, I've heard good things about Vigilante. Yank seems to be the most highly regarded though.
