Default Been a while...

Been a long while since I posted. Thought I'd drop in quick to share a couple of street races that happened last weekend. I don't normally street race, butcouldn't resist playinga little this time since I haven't been to the strip since last November.

I was taking my 04 Terminator for a ride last Saturday since the weather was nice. I pulled behind a guy in a 95 GT sitting at the light. The car looked real good with Nitto DRs out back and a huge cowl hood. A black guy was driving. He saw me behind him at the light and took off pretty good when it turned green. I pulled up along side and rolled down my window to compliment him. I asked if he wanted to go, and he agreed. We got outside of town a little ways where there was no traffic. I told him to go first from a 30 MPH roll. He nailed it andI followed. I put 10 lengths on him by 100mph. He was a real cool guy and commented he had a few bolt-ons and nothing extremely radical. Nice guy and nice looking ride he had.

Sunday I was headed for a cruise-in to benefit a 14 year-old boy with a rare but serious bone marrow disease. On the way a guy I pulled up behind a real nice dark blue LS1 camaro that actually sounded damn good with a serious cam lope. He saw me behind him. His license plate was Z4U2TRY[8D]. The light turned green and the guy nailed it and moved to the center lane.
I'm now on his left as we come up to the next light. He looks over and nods. When the light turned green, Iwas side-by-side with him butas the turbo built boost, the tires started spinningand Ithought this guy was going to start getting away from me.I pedaled and finally got a little traction with the stock F1s. I ended up putting about 5 lengths on him by the next light fighting the entire way for some grip before letting off.
The guy was really cool and gave me a thumbs up and head shake asentered the turning lane for the mall for the cruise-in. I was hoping he'd follow me so I could learn a litle more about his set-up. That car was damn fast. I hopeI run across this guy again.I think his car would be all my little blue 92 LX could handle!

By the way, 36 or so cars showed for the cruise-in and when I left over $1200 had been raised for his medical bills etc.[sm=icon_rock.gif]

Good weekend.

It's a pro turbo systems set up. 76mm Garrett. Street tune puts down 700 rwhp. Lotsa fun. I need to do some more tuning and the car needs tires and a stout clutch. Too busy to screw with it right now...

It's a real fun car. I do however prefer the bumbety-bump of the high lift camshafts in my 85 and 92 foxes. Just something about a V8 bumpin' a tune that I enjoy...that fella's Z sounded damn good.

yea....been busy with selling a house, the new house, work, family issues...normal snit. I still drop by occasionally to check in and see what the kids are up to. Where the hell is Rogers? I see 98LS1 is still waving the LSx flag!

Guess I'm kinda like a bad case of jock itch...just when you think it's gone for good, it comes back.[8D] Just thought I'd share one of my very, very rare street races.

Love your sig by the way...

I like C6's new sig too. Now if we can only get MrRogers to put a picture of his GT in his sig, we will be all set.
