Default GTO vs. Mustang

Hey guys, don't post too much on your forum here but had a great little run with one of your bro's in the Sacramento area the other day. I was rolling up to a stop sign with a red 'stang convertable sitting next to me. I look over and its a dude smoking a cig with his lady in the pass seat. He gives me a rev, and I'm like, wtf why not. We both gun it and we're pretty even through first, I'm spinning but he gets a great launch too. He edges out in front by a fender but we get even as we shift to second. 2nd and 3rd gear are a bit nicer to me and it goes my way this time by a car or two.We coastback downto the speed limit and he pulls even with me, looks over, smilesand gives me the thumbs up. I rolled down my window but it was too late as he was turning right onto another street, he downshifted and let me hear his pipes(frickin' awesome sounding gurgle he had there).

Anyway, I didn't post on here to claim a kill, but rather to say cheers to a fellow speed freak who was a class act all the way(evenwith hislady in the car!). Thanks for the run friend, and beautiful car you have there. I know there are plenty of sic fast cobras out there waiting to taste some goat, but I'd like to think I'd return the courtesy of a job well done when its my turn to see tail lights.

Cheers.

PS. Whoever the driver of the mustang is, since we didn't get to talk thought I'd let you know -thegoat has heads/cam (453rwhp 433lbtq).

Sorry, don't know my mustangs and wasn't paying too close attention. If I had to guess, I'd say 2000+ year model. It was in awesome condition, looked really nice and definitely wasn't stock.

Thanks. Have to admit I got the color cause its easy to maintain, but it has grown on me. Keeps my off the radar too, cops seem to look right past me, probably think i'm a grand prix.

I'm pretty sure we can all asume it was nothing anywhere near stock.

If 455 hp only put you two cars in front by the middle/end of 3rd, I'd guess it was a pretty quick car itself.

Finially good to see another non-turd like Goat Owner (no offense sidewayz) but my last interaction with one was like arguing with a 3rd grader.

Good kill. Sounds like u ran into (probably) a supercharged stang.

Welcome to the forums.....nice Goat. I don't get to see too many GTO's with nice aftermarket rims on them. I really like what yours did for the overall look. I'll be she hauls the mail pretty nicely too.[8D]

Good kill!! I use to reside in Sacramento. Where were you all running at? What part of Sac-town are you from?

Thanks for the kind comments guys. When I was shopping for a new car, I was torn over the look of the GTO vs the performance of a 400hp car for under 30k (31k out the door). The rims did a little to help me get over the bland styling of the car.

I was a little hesitant to post in this section, but now I cansee you have plenty of stand up guys here.

Thanks 72MachOne99Gt, I try to be a "non-turd like GTO owner", lol[sm=happybounce.gif].

And lsustang04, I tried not to get to exact on the location for certain reasons, but wth, it was in elk grove. I don't live here, I'm from the bay area and am just here for a week for work (training).
