Default Track Tomorrow

Hey guys just have a quick question. Im going down to the track tomorrow and just wanting some advice on how to launch with Street Tires. Im running the BF Goodrich G Force Radial street tires. I have heard to just do a "LIGHT" burn out just to clean them off. Also ive got a Vortech at 10 psi stock motor and 3.73 gears.

God bless you...traction will not be your friend.

With street tires I just spin them ever so slightly to get the dirt/rocks off. You don't want any smoke

LOL....from recent experience I can tell you what NOT to do. Don't roast them and hit the rev limiter and don't do a slow start and bog. Other than that get good advice from the experienced guys in here.

With my 4.10s and street tires I take off from idle and it doesn't bog. Now it did with the stock gears...idk how it'll do with 3.73s. He should try like a 1500 launch or something really low like that depending on track prep. You're not going to be able to launch at all...plus he'll spin in 1st as soon as he floors it and probably 2nd too.

I would aim for a nice trap speed, not a nice E.T.

Yep, that was what really surprised me. When I eased into it, there was a very brief nose down hesitation when I hammered it.....have been practicing higher rpm start with some clutch slip....seems to work much better. To my surprise the track is a lot different than a street launch.

Blower + 3.73s + street tires = futility. I have a stock motor and 2.73s and I can't get traction on street tires.
In order to not make traction any worse than it will be, leave the tires at the normalpressure (32ish).

You think the radials will respond better with stock tire pressure?

underinflation = cupping (only the outside edges of the tread make contact)
overinflation = only the middle of the tread makes contact
correct pressure = optimum footprint
