Last nightme and the GF decided to take out the take out the Lt1 Formula and try out the to MAF as my last one went out and I replaced it with a used one...anywayz
Almost as soon as we got out there this 99-04 GT with a loud loud loud(i think u get the picture) exhaust rides up behind me and throws a rev so of course I throw one back so we pace at about 30 which is perfect for a 2nd gear punch for me about (3700) rpms...and he punches it and then no less than a second later as do i....by third his front bumpy is at my door and by the top of 3rd at my bumper. and by the middle of 4th hes 1-1.5 cars back....so i let off...all i have is the 95 160k mile formula with 4.10s/cai/catback...i know he had exhaust dont kno wat else...Thanks for listening[/align]

 

yeah it's sad that 1993 gm technology (275 hp lt1) is superior to 2004 gt 2v technology (260 hp) oh well.....

 

Its not superior, just that he has gears. If the mustang would have had gears this would have been more of a drivers race.

 

He was probably pretty close to stock. Your 4.10's killed him. Stock for stock its a driver's race.

OTOH...I'm basing that on Z28's and TA's, I guess your Forumula is lighter than either...

 

it could of been an auto too.....and GM added 1.3 litres to the technology too.

 

By that way of thinking Ford added two overhead cams, so that makes up for the displacement. It's as simple as two different ways to make power, unfortunatly Fords bean counters won out and they put the crappiest heads on the 2V'ers.

 

I love it when people argue displacement. Whats so bad about a bigger motor? If you have the space, why not use it?

 

It simply puts the stang at a disadvantage, nothing more.

Regardless, I never managed to acutally loose a fair race against an LT1 stock for stock. Hell, the only LT1 that has beat me so far was still a drivers race, and I had 5 people in the car

 

I only lost to one Lt1, it had a cam and i was fairly stock and had two 100 pound chicks in the car[&:]

 

well his was def an m5, and my car is a 165,xxx mile m6 with a cai,gears,catback....
