Hey guys i was driving around moline il looken for a race when outta no where this 96+ 4.6 mustang comes rolling beside me and gives a 5k rev and launches forward, i follow suit and proceed to roll down my window. Were going about 40 in a 35 or so and as im rolling down my window i hear CHHHH CHHHH CHHHH CHHHH i look over and i see nitrous purges. I got really excited and I was like, DUDE NICE PURGE. He was like thanks, i only purge to other mustangs, i laughed and asked him if he wanted to run. He said sure.

We went from several different speeds, but all from a roll, 25-60, 55-90, 75-110, 40-120, 45-95, etc and i beat him every time. I put about a half car length on him most of the runs. I noticed however when he shifted into 3rd that I would pull really hard on him, Is this because he was a bad driver, or because my aod pwns his skills lol.

Moral of the story, we pulled over at a gas station in bettendorf off of 74 and we bs'd for abit and he showed me his 10lb bottle and his zex kit that he had installed etc. He said he couldnt spray because he didnt have his spark plugs in yet and he didnt want to detonate. I gave him the mustangforums website and got his number, were gonna go cruise around with other stangs on friday night, race a few lt1 camaros and an evo, few ls1's will be there also.

Really cool kid and a very clean car. He only had 51k miles and he paid 11k for it. He was upset that my 91gt 5.0 with almost 150k miles that i paid 3k for took him everytime. He asked what i had done and to make him feel better i said gt40p heads and e303 cam. Im actually completely stock TO THE BEST OF MY KNOWLEDGE except for under drive pullies and an electric fan.

The more i race the more i think i have internal mods done to my car and or atleast gears. I mean my speedo is off, and i do pull pretty hard, i dunno tho.

SHORT VERSION: Beat a 4.6 from a roll by 1/2 car length several times.

This driver must have really sucked, or it was a 96-98, because a 99+ would have owned you everytime. Nice kills though, and have fun hanging out with him, but dont get to excited about racing any LT1's, and definately not any LS1's or EVO's, all three of those cars would smoke both of you.

 

Why would you even waste your time/money to purge if you can't spray it?? I don't know maybe I'm missing the concept here. I could sure go for some lt1's and evo's right about now mmmmm ... lunch

 

Not exactly sure how an EVO would be lunch for an LS2 GTO, but I think it would be an awesome race to see.

 

^ Except for the fact that he would have to be one of about six people on the planet who can drive one to their potential. And we already found Sidewayz, so it could get ugly.

 

i took down a couple evos with my then N/A GT making about 265rwhp.....the street and times at the track posted online are very different things

A 1/2 car isnt nothing to brag about, and its definately not pulling hard.

 

Not many manual cars are driven to their potential. The LS2 GTO should be hitting 13 flat, but most people run 13.3-13.4 in them, just like the EVO and STI's should be hitting 13.0-13.1, but most run 13.4-13.5. I know the one time I ran an EVO that had atleast exhaust, he pulled about 3 cars on me from 0 to about 80, and I was manually shifting my auto and shifted too late from 2nd to 3rd and bogged alittle bit. I'm pretty sure if the dude could drive or was trying his hardest he would have smoked me.
