Default Chevelle???

What would you guysexpect a 1969 chevelle with a 396 and an auto tranny (turbo350 maybe?) that iscompletely stock to run? I tried searching drag times, but no help there. Also it will be running at around 5800 ft. elevation. Thanks for any help!

Dunno about the 396 but here is this info. What will it be running on? Tires from the 60's or today's rubber?

Those are the specs for the 454, I'm lookin for 396 specs.

I ran a 15.5 @ 91.25 mph at 5800ft. elevationwhen Ionly had my 3.90s installed. The Chevelle is my boss's car, he was messing around with me and said that he would give me as many car lengths as I want (He watches too much Pinks! ), but he's still going to run me down. For the most part his car is stock and I just wanted to know what kind of times he would be running on a regular street radial and possibly a drag radials.

So you found the times on one the rarest and fastes Cheveles. A stock 396 car on a regular street tire will be in the high 14's (in my area) that would put it well into the 15's at your 5800'. Of course if it's modded then there is no way to predict what it will run without knowing the exat mods. Be a man and run him heads up, if he wins oh well he has a big block

Considering I used to own one I can answer this one, well, mine had a Muncie rock crusher but I did run it stock and modified.

Bone stock 325hp '69 SS Chevelle, I ran 14.5@96
Modified making 490hp on stock rubber with ungodly wheel hop it ran 13.6@114 (serious traction and hop issues) I sold it before I could dial in the rear suspension.

Obviously elevation will need to be adjusted for. Good luck with yours!

That's exactly what I'm going to do, he's got stuck suspension, and a possibility of drag radials. Stock motor (maybe an aftermarket carb or intake?) and tranny. If I was atsea level now I'm sure that I'd be somewhere in the 13's. Maybe this will be a better race than I thought, thanks guys!
