Ok so i live in tulsa,oklahoma and the place to go for car racing on friday nights its a street called memorial. So it was my first time to get down there and scope it out with one of my friends. We did a few donuts and what not and jsut having some fun when we are followed by a new civic si vtec. we pull up go on three and next thing we know we are doing 120 down an open stretch of road. this was a fast civic had a turbo if not 2. I won that one and then we race an 05 06 v6. had a body kit and exhaust tips. He said other than that it was stock. So we line up at a 20 roll and a 30 roll. I lose both by at least 1 or 2 car lengths. this kid was a god at shifing. couldnt even tell that he would shift. we stoped when we flew past a cop at around 115. It was a hell of a night though and a good one for that.

 

what were you running a v6?

 

No i have a 97 gt. idk what happend with that race against the v6 though i was ashamed

 

Your car is non-PI (According to your sig)...that is what happened The V6 is rated for only 5 hp less than yours to the crank. Subtract 10 years of use from your ride, the V6's fresh motor and tranny...= you lose. [&o]

 

yeah thats wierd. i thought maybe you were driving someone elses car because you shouldve taken him. sounds like youve lost some power since 97.

 

how dare you lose to a v6 man! just kidding, the 4.0's are pretty stout but you still should have won, i think.[&o]

 

he has him by a decent amount of torque, a well kept 96-98 gt should take a v6 s197, not by more than a car and a half though

 

that honda had 2 turbos man, did anyone else find that funny.

 

V6 doesnt have the torque though...

 

but the v6 has the age, its like a 19 or 20 year old in a race or weight liftwith a 50 year old....better shape. the numbers are so close that wear/tear comes into play. But arnold governator can outlift me anyday....just as a s/c fox can own me any day
