hey there, so today i was on my way to class. stopped at a light, and light turns green. i hit the gas, and i didnt think i was going too fast, but next thing i know i see the good ol' red and blue lights. so he pulls me over and asks if i was in a hurry, so i tell him sorta, im late for class. so he tells me that he paced me at 60 in a 35. so he asks for my license and insurance, and goes to his bike. he comes back and hands me a citation. funny thing is, the ticket didnt say an amount i have to pay, it just says i have to go to court within a month...so wtf? how good of a chance do i have of getting off the hook? by the way its my first time being stopped.

 

Some states dont put the amount on there. Call the the number on the ticket ask them how much it is and pay it before the date on the ticket(court date) Unless you want to fight it and be at court or they will order a bench warrent.

Those light in your review mirror suck! Just show up to court pay the stupid ticket and do traffic school so it don't show up on your record....I think if your a full time student with no job/hardly make any money and can pay the ticket with some comunity service, that is if you don't wanna pay for it....

 

if the cop doesnt show in court = you were "going with the flow of traffic" as to "not get hit" due to other "speeders around you". if he shows = ask for community service/supervision and/or insert your head between your legs, kiss your own @ss cuz your done. and if you fight it, you better believe insurance is gonna hear about it if your found guilty.

 

the ticket amount you have to pay should be on the little booklet they give you with the ticket...or at least that's how it is in Florida.

You're pretty screwed, thats 25 over. You could try pleading not guilty, they may lessen the offence to some non-moving violation. But you will probably have to pay a pretty hefty fine, I had to pay $250 for 15 over (80 in a 65). But then again, my friend had to pay $200 for 25 over (80 in a 55). I guess it depends on the court...

 

Also depends on what kinda area it was in. Certain speeds are a mandatory court appearance. 25 mph over you probably will get hit with some kinda fine. Sorry
