Default C4 Help

I am doin a 351/c4 build up and was told the block year didnt matter. Is there a difference for a c4? I only plan on about 400-450hp and i looked online and from 79-80 seems to have the most parts availiable. I have never done a Auto rebuild, this will be my first overhaul so any advice will help, anyone make a book for rebuild? Chilton/Haynes

This would be better for classics, but Windsor and Cleveland blocks are different enough that the bell housings should be different. Thats an easy fix though. Ask the experts in the classic section.
