Bracket racing
iv run my car at the track before and my best time was 16.037 but others were arround 16.1 and 16.3 and this weekend they are having high school class bracket racing for HS students and iv never bractet raced before and i know little about it and im curious what i should dial in as my time
you should always dial in a faster time correct you never want to run faster than your set time right
so what u think i should dial a 16 flat or is that too low
the times that i posted are in reverse order and it was my first time racing at track and it was before season started so no rubber had been layed down yet

The first thing you need to do is be as consistant as posible. If it's an auto let it shift, if it's a stick shift at the exact same rpm each time and leave at the same rpms too. Then once you have some fairly consistant time you adjust your 'dial in' from there but there other factors to account for too. If it starts getting hotter you will slow down some and if a wind comes up is a tail wind (quicker et) or a head wind (slower et). Also when it starts cooling down you will run quicker. Another thing is 'stage' the same every pass, that affects your et. Staging shallow makes your et go down and deep staging will raise your et but you cut a better light. To win in bracket racing means you have to be as consistant as possible. Get in a habbit of doing things and do them the same way every round.

I was going to say that.
One thing I will add,
Wait till you pull out on the track and there are 30,000 people on either side of you, If that don't get the hair to stand up on your arm, Your dead.

Man you got that right.
While at the track to find some one that wins a lot and has been racing a long time. Most drag racers are very willing to help out with advice and can give you pointers on how to adjust your dial in.
