Ah, cute little Neon... er... SRT4
Soooo...
Have the mustang out yesterday, sitting at a gas station getting gas. A bright orange neon srt4 pulls into the gas station at the little quicky mart building, reving over and over. There are two younger guys in it, and both are staring over at me. I give them a smile and a nod, the passenger returns it but the driver is just scowling. I finish up and pay and am just getting in when I see the passenger getting back into the car (buying something?) and the guy revs his fart can, again, looking at me.
Ahh stupid people.
I start my car up and give it a rev, letting him hear it loud and clear. He doesn't rev again, but then follows me out.
Now, coming out of this Sunoco there is a light immediately at a T junction that goes into a four lane road with very little along it. The neon pulls up next to me, also turning left, and the driver looks at me and revs. I just look at him; who am I to say no? A good rev shuts him up again, but he has that scowl on his face again; intensity I suppose.
Light changes, we turn left, I hear the fart can rattling so halfway through I start to give it gas and then WOT.
Goodbye Neon.
He never caught up; when we hit another light he actually slowed down WAY early and just kind of tootled along so that he never actually came to a full stop next to me again.
Why on earth do people rev at much faster cars? I mean, my car says "Supercharged" right on the side.
Anyway, its been six months since I've had the car out and this was the first "stupid person" encounter.

Because it's always fun to try. I know I do. I got killed by a vette about a month ago. I just wanted to see how long I could hang. Also, you never know what you'll encounter on the street. I've seen an SRT-4 Destroy a Cobra! Anyhow, nice kill.
Well, to be honest I guess I don't have a problem at revving at me; I guess in retrospect the problem was his scowly-*** face. I have raced plenty of faster cars, but I am always grinning when I rev at them; its supposed to be fun, you know? His passenger got it. But assface driver was trying to look SO hardass.

Awesome kill! It always feel good to show someone where their place is
Having supercharged avertised on the side of your car would just make me want to run you more.
For some reasonI see young guys try to act hard. I'll just pull up and smile before I rev just to show the other guy it's just a car thing and not some ego thing. Nice kill on the skittle.

lemme say this. its great when people try to race each other, and 100% perfectly fine when a slower car challenges a much faster car; its a beautiful thing, but the caveat is that it should be done in good sportsmanship, not scowling and being a hardass.
cheers. if I'm the slower guy, at the next light I might say nice car and ask about their mods. I've really only had one race in this car though...against two 4cyls that werent really anything special.
