My car runs 6's in the 1/4th.
You drive a funny car as a daily driver?
g
Yes, it's hard to take some corners, but I manage. I go through a clutch daily.

I doubt anyone's 10 second civic is going to be a daily driver anyway, and if it is they'll probably be able to retard the boost with a controller and run normal street tires.

Gotta register at that board to view the vid but its a civic running 9.85 full leather interior

and it will run 9.85s on the street setup exactly how it's set up for the track? If so that's amazing, that must be one stiff as hell ride.

Yea it looks like the only major thing being switched is the tires to some big slicks

i have to admit i have seen some crazy civics at the track but they were NOT daily drivers. and it's hard to imagine a sub 10 second one being driven daily

I wonder how much they have in them to run 10's. Around here they spend more than I have in my entire car just to get a mid 12. not worth the effort or money IMO.

Different is good, but $12k to run 13's isnt my idea of cost effective. Especially when I spend $5k to run 11's and $8k to run bottom tens high nines. Modding a slow pos or economy car to run where a stock GT or F body does, just to be different and brag about how it beat a stock one isnt terribly impressive to me. I guess since I wasnt born with a sliver spoon in my mouth and my daddy never bought me a car, I still look at the bottom line. $$$ - ET.

98 you ever get into the 12's?

Well modding a econ car to 9.85's is something thats differnt, including it was driven to and from the track, with full interior. Thats not just beating a stock GT or F body, but thats blowing away most cars

For the same money I would be runnin 8's or faster. I dont have deep pockets so I dont have an 8 second car. Throwing money at a car doesnt impress me. Cuz if money isnt a problem, why not just go Top Fuel racing? At that point doing it just to be different is even more stupid, then it could be a business and unless its advertisement for said business its not a sound investment.

So you can show me a handfull of 9 sec imports. Lets go to my home track and I can show you more 9 sec cars just in one class. There is even a fullsize 1/2 ton 78 Chevy running 9.90's on a throttle stop thru mufflers. How consistent is it? From what I have heard the 6 second supra engined cars are about as consistent as tapioca pudding. One run in the 6's a hundred all over the 7's.

I guess being a racer I have a different view on things. If you have the $$ and you like driving a buzzing fart can equipped 4 cyl more power to you. Thats the nice thing about Drag Racing, you can run pretty much anything you want.
