cobra vs ls1
I was wondering how a 99 cobra would stack up against an ls1 camaro. I know the cobras are supposed to be 325hp, and the ls1 camaros like 305(i think the ss is 320) and i was wondering if the cobra would be faster than the camaro?

would a 99 cobra really even keep up? i mean i can walk them in the couple i have raced and those ls1's seem to stay up a lot better by far why? Is your mach stock? Stock is 305 hp...Btw i love machs.sweet looking cars. If only i wasnt a broke and in college i would have one.

the ls1 fbodies were rated at 305, but in all honesty they will dyno near that at the wheels (300-310 rwhp). it is the exactly same powertrain as the c5 vette. some people will tell u they detuned them but it isnt true. an fbody will actually dyno higher than a vette because the vette loses more power to IRS. the ls1 is actually somewhere around 350-360 bhp. thats why they dont keeps up.
about the mach's tho, they must be underrated too. because those cars are way faster than they are rated. its a drivers race between a mach1 and an ls1 with the ls1 pulling up top. Id be interested to see a dyno chart for a stock mach1
if u want ive got a taped race between me and an sn95. Ive got a vid from before his tune iwth 245 rwhp (approx 305 bhp) and I wax him pretty good (my car was stock down to the paper filter at the time).
then we taped a race after his tune with 307rwhp (approx 360 rwhp with 15% loss) ive got all his sheets to prove it. We are pretty much dead even and I pulled out when he shifted into 5th (but hey, that gear sucks, so i dont hold it against him). during that race I had a filter, lid, and short shifter.

My g/f has a stick94 Gt 5.0, with a 4:10 gear, udp, cai, and I have raced a few ls1 and lt1 camaro and always beat them, but a friend of mine has a 01 cobra with a drop in K&N and he beats me everytime.
