I replied to your pm, before reading this post, and thought you were driving the Z. LOL. Anyways, now that I see what the situation is.... no,you will NOT beat him. Not unless he sucks at driving. And I don't think 3.90's would do it for you either, honestly. One of my buddies has a'91 GT w/ throttle body, headers, exhaust, and 3.73'sand I take him by 3ish cars. Dig, or roll, doesn't matter. His car his 5MT, minehas cai,BTW. And if the race goes past 100, you're def toast, as the Z is just catching it's breath. Anyways, just race him, and see how it goes. Maybe he's not a very good driver, and you'll walk away w/ an easy win.

Yeah, I'd believe that. Considering you said "not by much" and since your car has bolt-ons and gears. 350Z's are by no means untouchable, and mildy modded 5.0's can take them. I just think he's gonna need more than those mods to win unless the Z driver sucks, or it's a short race. Those cars love top-end, though, and if it's a long race, he's gonna see nuthin but tail-lights.

350z's are 6 speeds. With a damn good driver they might be able to knock off a 13.9, they lack in torque, if you launch right you should be able to kill em. Don't race from a high mph roll since that's where Z's do best.....I sell them so I know a little about them

I think the z will pull you pretty hard if the kid can drive. I got rid of my 6 speed 03 z about 5 months ago cause my payments where so damn high. I loved that car though. I got a 13.7@101 outta mine. Had a cai, and removed resonator is all. LIke someone was saying the z lacks in torque for its weight. They weigh 3300lbs. From a stop itll be pretty close but from a roll the z will take you by at least 2 cars. Let us hear the results. Oh and heres a pic of mine for ****s and giggles.

My dad has a 05 350z and all he has is nizmo exhuast with headers, cai, nizmo wing and body kit form japan ( looks nice not rice) and a pcm tune. with the touring package and 3.8L auto trans it gets up and goes . the car has no lift when u nail the gas it just shoots forward. it beaten lightly modded gt's no problem . Unless youhave a power adder such as spray , or super charger your gona loose
