Default V6 1/4 times

I have a 2000 3.8 with true dual exhaust w/ IMCO mufflers, a K&N cai, and a JET performance chip. I went to the track about a month ago and pulled a 16 flat quarter best. What do you think about that? I consistantly run 85 mph. I really think that I can get it beter b/c I am yet to have a good launch and run at the same time. I need to work alot on the launch. I have a set of MAC lt's coming. What do you think I should run once those are on?

16 flat in anything is just sad but i'm sure theres more to your story. what was your 60 ft? what tires did you run on? And last but not least why spend a million dollars modding a V6? why notjust get a GT? are you real young and insurance is incredibly expensive?

My best 60FT was a 2.4285. I was on ****ty Sumutomo (<- sp?) street tires. Millions of dollars? The difference between a new 6er and a new Gt is around $4000, give or take a bit. Add gears ($150), t-loc ($250), cai ($150), exhaust ($300), headers ($300), cam ($200), short-throw shifter ($150), tuner ($350), ported and polished intakes ($250), coil and wires ($150), pullies ($200). That equals $2450. That leaves $1550 for installation, and anything else that you need. At that point, your 6er is running away from GT's. What is more impressive, a stock car running 13's or a modded car running 13's? Add in the savings with gas prices, and the savings in insurance-I think the point is obvious.

it is rare for a new edge GT to run 13s....but i dunno i think a stock car running 13s is more impressive then a modded one running 13s....and gas prices are around the same for both cars.

I would give more props to the guy that made it go 13's. It doesn't matter anyways. I was wanting opinions on my times. But, I do see where you guys are coming from.

i would be impressed to see that mod list cut you from 16s to 13s.

i dont think that your current times are that far from being as good as it will put down...my DD is a FWD V6, 3.0L, auto...200 stock hp, exhaust, intake, mounts, tires...my best runs were in the high 15s...like 15.96 or something, with a 2.35-9 short time...trapping mid 86s-low 87s. i wouldnt imagine that youre making much more power than my DD, but you may be a little heavier.

you have more potential..i dont want to get you down about your ride...you should be able to get into the 2.3X range...which should get you into the 15s.

No offense, but i'd bet lots of money you wouldnt hit 13's with that modlist.
