2 kills one drive home
So I get off work today and I'm headed the usual route home when I catch a light. Minding my own business, actually on the phone with my lady finding out what we're going to do tonight and a Firebird pulls up next to me. The passenger notions to me to go at the light change and I hang up real quick and wait for the light to change. Light turns green and I'm out. I put a quick 2 cars out of the hole and then put 2 more and then disappointment sets in. The firebird that I was so eager to race turns out to be a V-6 and a complete waste of time. They pull up next to me and give me all sorts of props for the car being so quick and I thank them, but inside I'm pissed about even racing them. Damn it!!!
So a few more miles down the road a younger guy like myself in a very new C6 Vette pulls out in front of me. We are driving through traffic flirting with the open road when low and behold the light changes for us. Things I noticed about the car. Exhaust, and brake upgrades. Looks liek some work has been done. "TURN ON NITROUS". Waiting for light. Light turns and I pull him through 1st gear. Wait wheels spinning hard and corvette fights back. Dead even after 1st. Short shift to 2nd. Put a bumper on him and granade tires again Corvette up by 1/2 car even shorter shift to third. Corvette is up 1/2 car and looks to be pulling, third gear starts working. No more wheel spin for me and I close 1/2 car pull up by a nose and keep pulling. Top of third gear and I'm up 1 whole car, shift to fourth and put 1/2 a car more and Vette backs down. We slow down for the next light and he give me big thumbs up and I shoot back a wave and thumbs up back. I can't say I would have lost without nitrous because the wheel spin I experienced was crazy. The car is way to hard to control on the street with it. I just wanted a good race to see how it would do on the street and now I know. I won't be doing that again!!!!
I just couldn't believe how hard I pulled on the Vette once I got the car planted and moving forward. Traction with 20's is non-existant.

You type stories well.

Guess I used too many 1/2's but that's how it played out. A back and forth battle as the Mustang was trying to get traction. I can't wait to get the drag radials for my car. The 20's look nice and all, but they don't hook for crap!!!
