First Trip This Year
Sunday was High School Nationals at Norwalk, and I ran the SVO for the first time in about 6 months. My best time was 14.2 at 95.52 mph. That is a bit off from what it was running, but traction was bad, there was a stiff headwind, and the fact that this was the first time I have driven this car in about six months slowed me down some.
Overall I was pretty satisfied with the results. Out of ~500 cars I made it through enough rounds of eliminations until I was in the final 23 cars. I ended up getting knocked out when the car blew off a vacuum line in 4th gear and put off my time by a couple of tenths.[:@]
I hope to go up again tomorrow when the traction is better, and atleast break back into the 13's.

Nice run. What mods do you have done to the car? I actually had the chance to buy an 85 SVO I believe it was when I was 16, but I didnt have a job. Kinda pissed now, because it had like 75,000 miles on it and was only $3,000. Grrrr!!!

Everything that I have done is pretty basic stuff. Relocated the K&N to the fender well, LA3 with 35# injectors, Turbo Coupe IC, manual boost controller, 3 in. exhaust to the muffler and 2.5 out the back, a line loc, and a better boost gauge. Somebody in previous years installed an A237 roller cam in the car and it works pretty well. The drag radials that I run make the biggest difference.
Mounted on the car but not yet operational is an alky control system. It will spray right before the TB and both cool the intake charge and raise the octane level of the gas so I won't need to toss in any race gas when bigger boost comes with the Stinger header, HY series Holset, and the FMIC sitting on the floor in the garage.
As a side note, I still didn't get my 13. Got a 14.0 at the local track yesterday, and won't be able to get to the track again until next Wed., and they are calling for rain then.[:@]
