My friend recently bought a 06 lexus IS350. so i saw him at a party the other night, and we had been drinking, so hes telling me about how fast his car is and how he took this car and and that car. which was cool, im not a hater, his car is pretty clean. but later he says he thinks he can take my mustang. if we get on the freeway i will more than likely lose, but he said he wanted to line them up, which i had no problemwith =). long story short, we go outside, i warm up my car, we line up in a wide alley and a couple of friends came along to watch. so we are lined up, i have my car in first already, and im set to jump off the line, and he backs down. he pulls off to the side and parks and says hes too drunk and doesnt want to do it now. he tells me next time. hahaha, after all his smack he talked about how much he would beat me, after i told him i had just put in a new cam, heads and manifold, he said none of that would matter cuz his is fuel injected, haha ok kid

 

Well he sounds like an idiot, but it's a good thing you didn't race since you guys had been drinking, even if he used it as a B.S excuse. Just make sure you keep on him about racing you with all the shxt he's been talking, and do it when people are around! Those IS300s aren't that fast I don't think. I have a friend who has one and she took me for a ride and got on it, and I didn't think it was anything special. She had exhaust, CAI, pulleys, and some supsension work done, and although it's a nice car, I wasn't impressed by the performance characteristics. It's pretty heavy.

 

IS350 is another story.

6 speed auto with 306 hp inline six (unless its a V6, i dunno)...those things move. They are rated at mid 13s, but I don't know what they actually do at the drag strip, but they aren't to be fooled around with.

 

Good friend of mine has one. 13.4's all day, and all you gotta do is hit the gas when you see green and let the computer do the rest. Beware if you line up on one, he may just school you.

 

im pretty sure i can take him with my mods off the line, but if not, its all in fun, hes all old friend from high school and he was the one talkin sh*t, not me

 

Really, I thought the title said 300, my bad. I don't know anything about the 350s. Wow, that's pretty impressive.

 

Also, what is it with these kids parents buying them expensive *** cars as a first car, not to mention fast? In some other thread some guy was talking about how his friend in high school got a GT500? What parent in their right mind would give a 16 year old a 500 hp car? There's a 17 year old around herewith a modded 350z.Even if they have money, I'd get them something that's OK to wreck. Get them the nice car a little later.

 

ya but your mustang must be well over 300hp with a h/c/i I can't see why you wouldn't be able to run with a mid 13 car

 

I think he made the smart decision to not race while you guys had been drinking. Drunk driving is bad, racing your car while drunk driving is a terrible idea!

Sounds like it would be a pretty close race, though. Those only come in automatic, so there's no real driver error there. Definitely quick cars!

 

Sounds like you're the idiot...not about what his car can do versus your mustang, but for being WILLING to RACE after DRINKING...and don't give me the "it was an empty alley" bull****, it's stupid to even think it. Racing off of the track is dangerous enough [I know this is street/strip and I'm not saying I don't street race], but to do it after drinking is asenine and childish
