Default 92 Integra

So i was at my freinds house playing beer pong 2 nights ago and i met this one guy, huge honda guy[&:] and we get to talking about our cars. He has a 92 integra and is making 190hp, then he goes on to say that he should be able to do the 1/4 in 14 flat. You think that is feasible, i know its a light car, but with only 190 hp?

if its 190whp yes.... it can reach 14.0 But since he said 190 im sure he is talking about the STock 190hp they come with so I doubt it.

In 1992 the only Integra that had decent power was the GSR, and it only had 160hp out of a 1.7L engine. Where did you guys get 190hp? If he really does have 190hp, not whp, than no he cant hit a flat 14, but if hes modded enough to have 190whp, than yeah I can see a flat 14. His car weighs alittle over 2600lbs, so he is pretty light, but not a 14 second flat 1/4 mile light. Not even the newer GSR's from 2000-2001 had 190hp, they only had 170hp, but the Type-R that was very very rare did have 195hp.

I thought 190 stock was High for them (maybee RSX 190??) but OP said 190 so if its whp definately can hit 14.0'.

The base model RSX only has 160hp I believe, and depending on the year, the Type-S has between 200-210.

he didn't specify whp or not. when most people talk about hp. it's usually crank. so i'm going to assume the dude has a gsr motor with some goodies in it. doubt he has the type-r, he would've said 195hp instead of 190hp.

14 flat... idk. the type-r, stock form can only do mid 14's. even though his 92 integra is just a little bitlighter. i'm stil going to say he can't do 14 flat. maybe low to mid 14's.

If he has a 190 to the wheels, then it's possible. No integra stock came with 190 to the wheels though, the type R came with 190 at the crank. If I'm not mistaken, the GSR wasn't introduced untill 94 BUT I COULD BE WRONG.There's an all motor Type R around here with 197 to the wheels, but it's been heavily modded. The RSX-S has 200 hp at the crank. I've heard of people getting into the mid 14s in an almost stock integra, but I've never seen it personally.

The Acura GS-R came out in 1992 equiped with the B17A ( 1.7L DOHC) which put out 160 HP. It went 0-60 in 7.1 and completed the 1/4 in 15.5. The most powerfull Integra was the Integra Type-R, introduced in the US in 1997. It was powered by the B18C5 ( 1.8L DOHC )which put out 195 HP. It could go from 0-60 in 6.5 and complete the 1/4 in 14.7.

I would say that unless this guy has some sort of forced induction ( Turbo or S/C ), there is no way he is putting down 190 HP to the wheels, which would be around 225 Crank HP ( Estimate ). Thats a 65 HP increase over stock, or about a 40% increase. Which I would say would be gotten by adding a Turbo or S/C.

The most likely case IMO is that he has slapped on a few bolt ons and is guessing that he is now at 190 HP ( Crank ), and that theres no way this guy is hitting 14 flat, I seriously doubt that he is even breaking 15 in all reality. Seeing as how a 195 HP Type-R can barely break 15, and it is lighter and geared better.

Now, if the guy is Turboed or S/C'd, then he may be hitting 190 WHP. But even then, I seriously doubt hes ever hitting 14 flat. I would say that car at that power would be hitting 14.5 at absolute best. Just take a look under the hood for a turbo or S/C, if theres not one there, I say that the guy is completely full of BS.
