Run-in with two turbo'd Lexus'
I was on I-95 late last night when one lexus blew past me, quickly followed by another. As they passed, they both looked at me then slowed down in front of me. They lined up side by side, and I decided to get in on the action. I pulled up next to the red one, which was the older sleak looking one, and to his right was an IS300 model. Each of them had a passenger, I was by myself. They suddenly punch it, and I instantly hear turbos spool up, and am like "oh ****, I'm going to get destroyed." I quickly downshift into 3rd (we were rolling along at about 60mph) and punch it. I instantly stop their pull, but they remained about 1/4 car ahead of me from their initial jump. We started approaching traffic, so I let off. These two continued on for a bit, then let off as well.
We lined up again, still going about 75 or so, and then they just hit it again. So I went into 4th and started to pull on them, but we quickly came up on some traffic again, so I let off. These two then started weaving in and out of traffic and I decided that it wasn't worth it anymore. The traffic we caught up to was really light, but they were still in the way, and I didn't feel like scaring someone.
I don't know if I won or lost, but I was surprised that they didn't really pull on me at all even with their turbos.

I thought I would have been destroyed too, but oh well, maybe they can't drive or something. We also only went up to about 100mph, so maybe that had something to do with it.
They have the inline 6 2JZ-GE, same as a Supra, but the boosted Supra has the 2JZ-GTE (turbo).
Nice kill! Most boosted IS's max out around 300whp for reliability with the stock block, but as with any car, there are plenty of heavy-hitters out there. It's all about how big your bank account is, and Lexii aren't cheap to mod!

don't they have the same I6 powerplant as the highly over rated supra?
or am I thinking of something else?
