Best uncorrected run was...

2.075.............60
5.465.............330
87.06.............1/8 mph
8.294.............1/8 mile
10.704...........1000'
110.35...........trap
12.750...........Time

1200 DA for the night. Dropped pressures in the Nitto 555R to 20psi, should have gone lower. Also ran with a full tank of gas, missing air silencer and tons of steaming hot dirty engine air.

Flippin' idiot, I took out the air silencer a couple weeks back to clean all the gunk out of it when I cleaned the K&N. I had the car outside & it started to rain so I slammed it back together & left off the silencer figuring I'd get to it again. Well it wasn't until my 2nd slow pass that I realized I never put the silencer back in. I never bothered to open the hood either, it wasn't until I had a good 20+ min cool down that I was able to run a 12.750@110.

Between a full tank of gas, DR's & a missing air silencer I've managed to lose 5mph on my trap speed? The car felt sluggish on the way to the track, but this was my first time driving it in anything but cold & dry air - so it never clicked with me that I left the silencer off.

+1 for a 1/4 tank of gas & air silencer.

My worst run was a 13.045 @ 109.67 uncorrected with another 1200 DA.

Got a whole bunch of excuses, but it was def one of my worst 'racing' experiences at the track. Had a hell of a time getting the nitto's to hook - they have been great on the street but holy jumpin @ 20psi they weren't ANY better than Sumitomo's. I made a couple passes leaving at 1,500 rpms - 2k rpm & 3,000rpm. Got my best 60' @ 2.0 leaving at 3000rpm.

Best...60 for the night was a 2.0

Doodad, any run thatI rolled out @ 2000rpms or so I bogged or just didn't get off the line good.

My best 60 came with a 3k launch and just powershifting the living crap out of her. I powershifted all night, first few runs that I only trapped 109mph I hit the limiter 1st/2nd 2nd/3rd and only cleanly powershifted into 4th.

My 12.750 run I never hit the limiter, left at 3k & powershifted and still only picked up just a little over a MPH.

Last time out at the track last year on Sumitomo's I ran anywhere from 12.8@112 to 12.5@115 powershifting with 60's as low as 2.0 and as high as 2.2.

Not really sure what the deal was for sure with the car tonight, but the combination of a full tank of gas + being an idiot about the silencer & limiter troubles had to contribute some. The car felt strong early this spring, but today even on the way to the track it felt extremely sluggish - never felt that way before.

Sorry if this is ignorant, but isn't the air silencer a restriction? I'm not a Cobra owner but all of my previous Mustang's had a silencer of some sort and they were always the first thing to be yanked from the car. Sorry to hear about a bad night, if it weren't for my last pass two nights ago I would have been posting pretty much the same thing. You'll do better next time!

Typically the silencer is, however on the Terminator the silencer runs into the fender & then sticks out 3-4 inches all the way around the air filter cone. I don't know if you've ever been under the hood of a Terminator, but engine temps are INSANE in this car. I think I suffered from major heat soak...

You already know it, but its the 60ft that killed you on your best run still. My best 60ft is a 2.066 with the stock Goodyear F1's. How long of a burnout did you do with those nitto's? Alot of guys say that they need at least a good 5 seconds to get them nice and warm.

If you never opened your hood at all, you deffinetly had some heat soak. Did you ever take the hood blanket off? I can't remember, but your still on the stock upper pulley right? You could deffinetly benefit by going to a smaller pulley, that will help in not leveling off at the end of the track some.

I figured your problem out bro. If you don't mind, I wanna throw an adive that will make you faster than 12.5

Drop the PSI on nittos to 18psi and heat them up for a few secs untill you see some smoke. You are making some serious torque so you wanna heat them good. and then it sounds like the major problem was at tree. You were bogging the car. the reasion you are bogging the car cuz you don't rev it high enough and you don't give enough gas off the line. ALL YOU GOTTA DO IS, rev it up to 3k rpm and when the last yellow turns, let the clutch off easily and at the same time floor it. even before you let the clutch all the way, floor it and you will cuz at least 1.8x 60'. When you launch it at low RPM and the tires are already stick and the car doesn't have enough gas and it bogs. do what i said bro, believe me, it will improve big time.

P.S. in any chance, if you spin at 3k rpm launch like the way i said, then try 2,5k rpm. I cut 1.74 60' on 275 nittos.

The last run I spun them for atleast 5 seconds. The last couple runs I was leaving at 2500+ and going WOT instantly.

The first two runs just trying to figure out how the car would feel off the line - I bogged.

It's funny I ran better times on relatively bald street tires. My 1/8 times would translate to a 13.0 or slower, so my car is getting out past the 330 & running like mad, but getting off the line seems to be where I am leaving it all on the table. I expected my trap speeds to drop a MPH or two because of the DR's, but I didn't really expect a full tank of gas & no air silencer to put me back so far.

I didn't pop the hood the first two runs, my primary concern was just figuring out what these Nitto's needed to cut a decent 60'. I'm pretty sure I heat soaked the engine pretty bad. I'm not on the stock upper, I'm only running a 3.10 pulley. I'd like to see if I can get the car near or touching 11.99 before I put on my BF 2.76/Idlers/HE.
