Ok so I know you're all calling bull**** but here's what happened. It really is all about the driver and response time.
I was sitting at a stop light behind a Viper. We turned the corner and he pulled into the second lane and waited for me to pull beside him. I'm thinking to myself, "I'm not even interested in embarrasing myself and running with this guy." So I really didn't pay him much attention. But...as most guys with a Viper would do, he kept punching it and slowing back down beside me. So just to help him feel good about himself, I punched it... He tried to downshift, missed his gear and next thing you know, he's in my rear view mirror. We come up to the next light and he laughed and said, "Man you caught me back there.. I miss shifted big time and you got me."
I just smiled and told him he only got one shot and lost it
. There was no way I was gonna run with him off the line from a fresh start.
Any way a good little story I thought! All in fun...

Congrats!!! I caught one from a light one time, aaaaannnnnnnnddddd it wasn't pretty. The guy was cool though and complimented me on the way the car looks and sounds. I'd like to get him again though. I've stepped up my performance big time since the last time we met. I won't beat it, but he'll know I'm there this time. The first time he shut it down after 2nd gear.

Well - it wasn't a fair fight. I don't rev up on cars I know I can beat. But - at least he had a good attitude.
Several stock looking Mustang GT's have revved on me (maybe they think I've got a V6 because they don't see and GT emblems on the fenders?). So - I let them have it. Same thing - top end of 2nd gear - game over. I slow down to wave - they don't even look over at me.
