Around 5:20am some co-workers and myself were leaving IHOP. Two of us live in the same direction and decided to have a little fun on the highway. He has a later model EX Accord and we went up to about 85mph, then braked to about 50 and did it again. I won, but a cop saw the whole thing. When he pulled me over, he asked for my license, but no insurance or registration. He went to his car and did whatever he had to do. Then he came and the convo went a little like this.

Him: Mr. Taylor the speed limit on I-85 isn't 85.
Mestupid grin) I got up to 85???///???/

After running my license

Him: I saw you and that car you were playing with, do me a favor Mr. Taylor and watch the speed.
Me: Thank you officer (stupid grin)

The funny thing is, he saw both of us, but stopped me in order to let me go. Come to think of it, he looks like that cop that owns a 12-second 306 Fox-bodied stang that I see at teh dragstrip. Could've been him, but I was very lucky to get away with that ****.

I haven't gotten the springs yet, I have to wait until the guy gets his new springs put on. I had my car with the rims on it as my sig for a little while.

 

He couldn't give you a ticket because he didn't stop the other car. You would have been able to fight it and win.

I have been stopped several times for various offenses, but only once for speeding. And didn't get any tickets or written warnings. I have gotten a lot of threating verbal warnings. "If you don't get that fixed the next time I see you....." kinda stuff.

Funny thing is I have been stopped twice by the same Statey for the same thing and he always tries to get me to trip myself up and get caught with a lie. Never sucessful, never gives me a ticket. Last time he asked if I have ever been stopped for speeding. I said "No"

Officer "Oh really, well see this right here?" shows me my registation with numbers written on it in the corner "That is the code book number for speeding. Says you were stopped in September for speeding?"

Me " In september? No I was stopped on Easter sunday by the Warren police department for speeding. Didn't give me a ticket or a warning."

Officer "Oh we'll see." Leaves to go back to cruiser

Sitting there a long time now. Damn I am getting.....oh he's coming back.

Officer "I don't care if you are putting the car away tomorrow or next week, PUT YOUR FRONT PLATE ON. Have a nice night." as he hands me my reg and lic. back

Giggle to myself. "Nice try officer, you tried to corner me, but it didn't quite workout."

 

How are you guys so lucky? When I had my Z, I was pulled over all the time. Now they don't really look at me. I think they gun for the american V8's more.

 

Dude your lucky, I got a ticket for doing the very same thing you were doing, except I did it BELOW the speed limit and only from 15 mph to 35 mph and I got hit with a $600 fine and 80 hours community service (this was 6 years ago in my first stang).

 

Bah... dude you got pulled over for one reason and one reason only. That cop is probably the biggest dick on the force, but you really need to grab yourself a radar detector.

Is there a lesson in this? Yes. Stop being out so damn late... or early in the morning.

 

How many times have I got to tell you boys and girls out there that street racing ain't too smart!
Especially you young teenage boys out here. One good f**k up and you'll pay out the *** for car insurance until you turn 25 years old so think just how much extra money that will cost you over this time frame. Besides all that, you could get yourself or some innocent bystanders killed because on the street you never know when someone may lose control or pull out from a side road etc etc. If you feel the need for speed, take it to the local dragstrip and let it all hang out in a safe place where you won't risk going to jail!
