Saleen vs. 650 whp RX8

Here is proof of how hard Rotary's can run. This car belongs to a friend of mine. He competes at all the Import Drag Racing event on the West coast with it. The car is still in the 8's and unfortunately get put in the pro class whenever they come to town. If they let him in quick 16 he'd dominate it, but the Rotary's dont' get a fair shake against the Honda's and Chevy's in the NHRA or IDRC.
Here's what Rene said about the car (minor edit):
Hi there, my name is Rene and I am sending you this little story about my drag Mazda Rx3.
This car may be one of the fastest all steel street registered Mazda RX-3s around. My car is non tubbed, all original with windows, original suspension except for the rear end and tranny, but it is street registered with only 26x8.5x15inch rear slicks running a record setting 8.80@160mph, 3000 ft above sea level in December 2001. I only have a 85gsle SE street port turbo set-up no NOS, running fuel injection. Here are some pics of my car when I did my record setting time. Check out the registered license plate. thanks
RIDE OF THE MONTH- Love the Laser in your sig. That was one car I wish I had never sold. I has a 16g on mine and supra intercooler on it with a FCD. The car was pretty quick for how cheap it was. I miss that car.
That guy is full of **** with the 650hp nonsense. Go *** rape him and please put it on video! Rotary engines are garbage...even built ones break constantly. The fastest ones I've ever seen have the God-motor swap (LS1)

I live in Phoenix, AZ. When I heard 650 whp I was suspicious myself but I'm going to race the guy as soon as my car gets done. By the way, As far as launching goes, will the torque arm + panhard bar help or hurt my launch? (remember, I dont have UCAs or quad shocks) -I'm moving to more of a road race set up.
