You know those little drag racing tricks you can do to improve your performance?? Like relocating the battery to the trunk and every 100lbs you take off you car removes a tenth of a sec off your track time.

Share with us little tricks you guys have learned.

yeah but i cant tell you how many times its saved my @$$ in the snow and rain...such as today it was raining balllls and i started sliding after punching it a little...but TC stop me! yay! in the snow its the best, if you keep it on you can slide without losing control drifting snow style....in slow motion lol. its hilarious drifting at like 10-15mph and being able to control it.

a/c off, defroster off, t/c off. drive around the waterbox, reverse so that rear wheels are in teh water. spin em one revolution. do small burnout to heat/clean the tires. stage very shallow. keep the wheel perfectly straight. never take your hand off your shifter, or your eyes off the tach/track. never shift faster than you can carefully.

Go on the last yellow! This does depend on how you stage though...

Best bang for buck performance upgrade is tires. A good set of drag radials will do more for your time than anything else.

If you spend lots of time at the track, mix up your shift points. You may be surprised at what you find. Using myself as an example, with a redline of 6000rpm the SVO is quickest shifting at 5500, 5300, and 5000. I keep a log book thing whereI write everything down so that I can see how different combos changed my performance.
