What Gives???
OK so i have a 2006 5sp gt with a jlt cai and a canned xcal2 tune. A friend of a friend has either an 01 or 02 gt also a 5sp. He also so has an intake bbk i think, prochamber, diablo canned tune, a race clutch, short throw, some decent drag radials,maybe gears i forgot, and some other minor things like different plugs and stuff. Anyways i thought for sure my car could take his so we raced, hes more of an expierenced driver than me and I havent really raced before. So we go froma 20 roll and immedietly he jups out by a car we race up to about 120-130 and hes ever so slowly pulling away.....when we shut down he was prolly 2.5 cars ahead. Anways is his car really faster or do i just need to learn to drive better. Whenever I shifted gears i knew they werent very good shifts because if felt like i would lose power for a second and then the engine would pick up again, i also spun second for a split second. What can you guys tell me to shift a little better or something. In first froma 20 roll should I rev and dump the clutch or what....i just floored it, i dont understand how he could jumped out by a car immedietly like he did but whatever.....................opinions/tips guys thanks

Going that Slow were you in 1st gear? Dont Rev and Dump if your already going. he has Drag Radials you said and Gears..... Soo he is going to Grab Faster, and his Clutch and Jump out Real Fast.....

His car is much better setup for launching..........gears and good tires alone might be enough for him to even things out with you from a dig. Bottom line..........he is better modded than you and obviously is a better driver with his car than you are with yours. Start practicing. The 3V is a great performance base car, but its not the gods gift to racing in stock form.

With equal drivers you should win by a little from a roll. From a dig id say he would win since he's on DR's with gears. So basicly, practice driving and you can at least give him a good challenge.
