Exotic Car
Whilecruising last night I spottedthis massive, white car with 2 huge oval shaped exhaust tips pull intothe right lanea short distance ahead of me. Ithought "What the H..L kind of car is this?".He started pulling away from me, so I moved into the left lane, and speeded up to catch him. I pulled alongside, and was lookingaBentley Brooklands pumping out523 hp and 774 lb-ft of torque. What a beautiful vehicle! But what the heckwas this car doing around here, wherepickup trucks, minivans, and SUV's reign supreme?
No matter. It was time to see if he was all show and no go, or vice-versa.Idropped into 3nd, and gunned it just a little because of an upcoming red light. He followed suit, whichinitially surprised me. But being that hewas young, I assumed that it was Daddy's car. There was a car ahead of him in the right lane at the light, and I was looking at open space in the left. When it turned green I waited until the car ahead of him cleared out. We then both punched it at the same time from a 5 mph roll, andstayed neck and neck thru 1st and half way thru 2nd before we had to shut down for traffic. What a rush!
Someresearch showed thatthe BBcan do 0-60 in about 5 sec., so I was satisfied with my GT's showing against it.However, itwould definitely have been interesting to see how I would have done ina longer race. But no longer than 1/4 mile, where his massive hpwould play to his advantage.
Oh well, maybe next time.

Awesome spotting and way to keep up! Those cars are meant to be luxury barges with a ton of power just to get them moving. I think it's pretty impressive that a car that large and heavy can be that quick. Plus, you will be hard pressed to find a car that is as comfortable and luxurious on the interior while still being able to haul *** as a Bentley.

0-60 in the 5 second range with 774 ft-lb of torque is quite pathetic, the thing probably wieghs as much as the Titanic. Evolution's GT500 with the same torque ran the 1/4 in the high 9s.
