so my friend just got a 2006 SL65 amg ( age:17) and i have a stock 1998 GT 5 speed, im only 16 though. how the can i beat him, what do i have to do so i can out perform him. money is not an issue here. please let me know what i can do.

Trade your car for a terminator.

 

well if money is not an issue, a new forged short block stage II VT heads, set of blower cams, and a nice procharger, and just to make sure you can back it up with a TKO trans.

But realisticly your going to need alot to beat that car.

80,000+ car thats new > a car thats9 years old and probably only about 220 horses.

 

gears, short shifter, intake, trottle body and a plenum, to start. supercharger would obviously be best. but do that first **** and you should be better than you are now. full exhaust as well headers, midpipe, and a good catback. also maybe a tuner if you want, to control all your **** you are gonna do. goodluck. keep your car, although a Cobra would be really sick, make your car your own and have fun with it. i just turned 19 today and just got my car, and cant wait to do more than i have already. tb/plenum are up next for me so its something to do.

Without selling your car, there's no way to keep up w/ an 06 sl65 unless you put anINSANE amount of money in it. It's not worth it. They have 604 hp and 738 lb/ft torque and will run 0-60 in 4 seconds and through the 1/4 in 12 flat. You're gonna need at least a modded cobra to have a prayer of keeping up with one.

 

If money isn't an issue, sell your car, buy a Terminator, buy an intake, exhaust, pulley, tune and drag radials and practice a lot.

As was already said, it would take an asston of money to reliably get your car close to his.

 

you are gonna need LOTS of money. Those things can run 11's. I have a question though. Are your friends parents royalty? Cause their son is driving around in a near 200,000 dollar car.

 

that car has 600 hp and like 700 tq....in a 7 speed auto(correct me if im wrong)
