C5 Z06 vs. Me
ORIGINAL: C6 VETTE
With the cost that he paid for his car plus the modifications he could have picked up a C5ZO6....

or he could get a powerhouse turbo setup going, with a few suspension mods, and an 8.8"....then he will own that c5 z06 like there is no tomorrow.

You should'nt even be concerned about how your car with modswould perform against a ZO6................Thats kinda like asking "what would I need to do to my Camry to run with a M5".................................The answer is a new car..

and on a bad launch i went 12.0 @ 118mph.... goodbye c5 z06

You can find a 2002 Z06 in the low $30K range....A V6 Mustang runs close to $20K add a turbo setup and supporting mods and your in the low $30K

The cost of insurance over the corvette = priceless!

A v6 stang cost $19k, a takeoff 8.8 with 3.55's is $800, the powerhouse turbo is what $6k, not sure if that includes fuel system, but anyway you're looking at $27k at the most. The 4.0L in the v6 allready has forged rods. Rygen is running 11's on the stock engine (pretty sure, but maybe not).

i KNEW i would lose, i just wanted to see by how much lol. i wasn't curious as to what i needed to win. i knew i would probably need some sort of f/i to get enough hp to beat him. i think mr. roger's gave me the best reply! that pic was what i had in mind haha!

I HATE when people say well if he had this!!!!! HE DOESNT, If he had monery for a Builtmotor and Turbo and Suspension. Do you think he wouldve bought a 6er? No offence? but seriously I know there are people them them and just completely redo them but still.

I have a tremendous respect for the people who mod these cars out, but I also do wonder, why put all the $$ when you could just have a Z06 or something like that.
Also, try more around 26K for a 2002 Zo6 with 40K. That was the first year of the 405hp Z06, and that is the private party price. Sure you could spend that modding a V6 to do the same performance, but come on. Its still a V6 mustang, not a performance-oriented 405 hp naturally aspirated V8 beast.
Ouch! everyone stop being so hard on my fellow 4.0'er! He said:
now i know i would have lost, i was just wondering if anyone knew how bad i would have lost by. i wanted to race just to see how i'd do. i only have an axleback.
any ideas?
I dont think he was looking to see what he could do to beat the vette, just how bad would he lose.
And by the way, before saying that insurance is cheaper on a mustang then a vette, do the research. Check with your company. Get a friggin quote. Insurance is generally cheaper in a vette, at least for me, in which case it is 2,500 cheaper per year.
