Default is this right?

i was on my way to the mall at a light and a regular 2001ish style grand prix pulls up next to me. well he revs so im thinkin its on... then when we go were side by side the whole way. he got me off the go, my bumber was about at his front wheels and we stayed like that until about 80 when i let off cause traffic was coming up. my cars an automatic but should a regular 3.8 grand prix stay with me like that? im just wondering. i know a gtp would take me since im stock but i didnt think the regular 3.8's were that quick.

No i doubt it was a regular grand prix, it was probaly a debadged gtp or something, the Gtp's run similar to what your car runs stock, so it would be a close race.

Well since you're an auto, I'd believe it. Both are probably mid to high 15 second cars. He might have had a tiny bit done to his car too. You never know.

well at first i thought it was a gtp since it was so close. the car was actually all debadged. except on the back it said "grand" instead of how it should say grand prix. it was tinted out and lowered with like some 18's. so its obvious he had money into it. but i didnt know u could buy much of anything to make one really that quick.

Its hard to tell the difference between a gtp, a regular gt or gt2 for that matter, but you have to know a little about the car. I say you probably raced a gtp

thats what i told my girlfriend cause she was with me and wouldnt stop laughing when i didnt pull away. i was like "it was obviously a gtp". but she just kept laughing and laughing and i got pissed and whiped some doughnuts in the mall parking lot to shut her up...lol. oh and my aode has a shift kit so there shouldnt be too much difference between mine and a 5speed.

This was either a stock or lightly modded GTP, or a heavily modded GT. The GTP can run high 14's to low 15's stock, and I doubt your running that with an auto, but its hard to say. LOL on the g/f thing though.

My parents have a 96 Buick LeSabre- 3.8 Series II-205 Hp@ 5200 and 230 ft/lbs. @ 4000. Considering the axel raio is 2.97 it moves pretty good for a 4 door, fwd auto, family car. Made some punk in a 2 door accord- complete with buzz can- look stupid. but that not too difficult.
Prob. about similairto a N/A Grand Prix, which is not go to hang with you.The 3.8 is a solid motor in its own right.
