Well I'm on my way home today with the Wife and son when a pretty nice WS6 T/A rolls up and is revving like crazy,( followed byA 96-98 GT with a horrible body kit on it)My wife looks over and say dont even think about it, Not that I would with my 5 year old son with me but it seems like I can't get a decent run anymore and when I can I am rolling with the family.
BTW it would have been nice to hand him his lunch with the Top down!

You guys need to get off of the LS1 *******!!!

 

Man, you would more than likely get beat down by that WS6. With only 301 whp, you're still short on power, plus you have a heavy convertible. Good thing you kept it in your pants.

Also, you had 3 strikes against you.

You have a convertible, which is very heavy = Strike 1
You had 3 people in your car = Strike 2
You had your top down, which has a LOT more drag. Makes a big difference. I've owned 2 mustang convertibles, and racing my friends with cars around the same speed, I would loose with the top down, but win with the top up. Top down = Strike 3, YOU'RE OUT!!

 

When you said "hand him his lunch" you imply that you think you would beat him pretty bad. Your car and a stock WS6 would be a good race (given equal drivers of course) but in no way would you be guaranteed a win. It's not about swinging from the LS1 *******, it's about being realistic.

 

It would be a good race assuming the LS1 was bone stock.

I read a story about a stock LS1 once but I have never seen it with my own eyes.Im beginning to think they dont exist. He would have "handed you your lunch"
