Its true, I finally had to admit I was beat by an import. Evo IX, I have no idea about the mods other than a new tranny, thats the only thing he told me. Well it was three races and I used my cheater radials the MT Et streets each time.

First race: I took it too lightly underestimated him, just dry hopped my tires and went. Beat me by a car and a half.

Second race: Did a good burnout in VHT, actually outlaunched him but found myself spinning when I slapped it from 1st to 2nd and 2nd to 3rd. Lost by a car.

Third race: Took out whatever was in the car that I didnt need and that pesky sway bar. Beat him by a bumper, but also broke my car. By the end of the race there was a disgusting sound comming from my rear end and when I stopped I realized I finally destroyed my posi. Luckily I was able to drive it home.

Either way the evo still won 2 of 3 luckily in money terms we broke even, two races for $100 and the last for $200 good thing I wont, but in the end I lost money because I now have to replace the posi..probably axles too.

 

That sucks about breaking your POSI. Your Procharged and probably running mid 12's if not better, and thats if you hook. If you hooked the EVO would have been killed, unless he was lying about his mods. Its a 13.2-13.4 second car that EVO is, so I dont know.

 

Were you on a stock rearend except for that axle brace? If so I'd think you were due to blow it anyway.

 

Oh im pretty sure it had a few mods other than a new tranny. Thats just the only thing he told me. And I ran a 12.7 at the track with street tires, but the track is different than the street.


Yah thats why I wasnt really surprised when it went, I know I have to go for the 31 spline setup but I dont have the money yet, so for now I found a 28 spline Eaton for relatively cheap and the axle brace should keep my axles together until I can get the 31 spline package.

 

No shame is getting beat by an EVO. With a few mods they can be nasty little bastards. No matter how fast they are though they are ugly as hell.

just remember there is always something faster and it does'nt always have to be another domestic. Losing to an EVO is a respectable loss, both you guys have boosted cars but he has the advantage with the all wheel drive. If you get out launched, its playing catch up from there on out.

 

Those EVO's are pretty stupid quick for minimal mods. Takes them A LOT to go really fast though.
