So this past sunday night me and abunch of friends go up to this place where a lot of street racers go. I go mainly to watch...but on the way home a kid i was talknig to with 96-98 GT with full exhaust intake t/b, and i believe he said injectors and a fuel pump...anyways he pulls of next to me on the parkway, and starts down shifting...so i went along with it...we started from a 2nd gear 40mph roll up to about 105....i pulled a half a car on him...is this weird? i started to laugh my *** off!!! I know i could keep up with stock 96-98 Gt's...but beat one with that much work???? But hey a good old win for sixer!!!

 

He needs to learn how to drive.

I agree, I pull on my buddy's 00 v6 like crazy and I'm pretty muchstock. If he was auto that was what gave you the edge on the highway w/ your 5sp.

 

The only 96-98 GT you might be close too, would be an automatic convertible full of audio equipment and a golf bag. Your car is a 15.5-15.6 second car at best, and the auto GT's from 96-98 run low 15's stock. Nice kill on the driver though.

 

When any GT is only .5 seconds faster than a sixer........................It's time for a trade in....[8D]

 

That .5 seconds must make a pretty big difference though, my races w/ stock new edge v6's have never even been close, especially on the highway.

 

I wonder how a 96-98 convertable auto GT would fair against a S197 V6..........The results may suprise you!!!!

 

I'm pretty sure a decent driver in a 5spd manual S197 v6 would hand an auto convertible GT from 96-98 its ***.

 

I would have to agree with you. My old car was a 96 GT vert and it was SLOOOOOW. I'm talking mid 15's and I had some exhaust, and 3.73's. The car was a dog.
