Beat a Cobra

K B @ 6 psi pulley, (showed 7 1/2 on the dyno)
335 rwhp 320 rwtq 12.88 @ 108
4:10 gears, Steeda shifter, Centerforce dual friction clutch
H.P. Motorsports subframe connectors and lower control arms
Mickey Thompson 275 45 17 drag radials
Raced an 03 or 04 Cobra a couple of days ago. The first race was from 50 to 55 mph, perfect for 3rd gear in mine. I took him by about 2 car lengths up to about 110 mph. I could hear his whipple the whole time.
2nd time we got stopped by a red light. I asked him if he was stock, and he said yes. Then he asked me if my car was a Cobra. I told him no it's just a GT. I said you want to go again?, he said sure. The light turned green, I launched at about 3000 rpm and the Mickeys hooked real good. I got out on him by about 2 to 2 1/2 car lengths and held it to about 100 mph when we had to let off for another light coming up. Again I could the awesome whine of that whipple. A couple of days later I saw his car at H.P. Motorsports, a local speed shop here in Omaha. I went in a couple of days later to get my caster camber plates and asked about the Cobra, and they said he wanted it to go faster, LOL, and he wants to put a straight axle in it.

whipple?? they come with eaton blower from the factory. whipple is an upgraded blower. and with whippleminimum they make 550+rwhp and can go up to 650+rwhp and can run 10s easily.

Yeah Sleeper05, It would be a good race, You also have a nice set-up. When I got my car repainted, I almost had them paint on a stripe just like yours, but decided on the understated look. No stripes and no badging.

Well even still it's a good kill.. he runs a 12.88 in his GT.. the Cobra runs 12.7-12.8 if he can drive it well enough... so he probably ran into a stock car, witha baddriver... could've been better... It sounds like it was a pretty even matchup... but he won by a few lengths... with a good driver - it would've been close and could've gone either way...
But to the OP, if the guy was a good driver in his car, you wouldn't have beaten him by a couple of car legnths... it would have been neck and neck... with him maybe getting the better edge... Based on typical qtr mile times vs what you ran atleast...
But good kill - you have a stout car... but your numbers seem a bit low from what i have seen other KB GT's put out... why not up the boost a lil bit? Or are you on a conservative tune?
