I NEED TIRES!!!
Well i went to the track and my car finally performed like it should. My E.T. wasnt nothin special but my mph was pretty good i thought.
My best time was 8.69 @ 88 mph
2.22 60'
5.73 330'
I'm pretty well pleased, but now i gotta get some tires. I'm gonna switch from the 275/17 nitto drags to some 315/17 mickey thompson drag radials(the new ones!) And I think that i lost a mph or two with babyin the car outta the hole also so i think that once my 60 is down to like 1.9 or 1.8 i should break a 7
O yea and i had some belt slip that was also holdin me back a little bit. Plus it was humid as crap and 88 degrees which isnt bad but its definitely not 60

Geez dude, I 60 ft better thanthat on Kelly Chargers.[&:]
I don't think that a different type of drag radial is going to give you 7 tenths; that's ahuge reduction in the 1/4 mile, much less the 1/8.

Looks like you've got plenty of room for improvement with your mods. I agree you should be running much quicker.
My times with my mods:
60'....2.095
330'..5.765
1/8....8.74 @ 85.78
I've got your same problem with having to drive off idle out of the hole. In my case, that's because I'm still on the stock 235/50/18 BFG KDWS tires and no suspension mods.
Can you get 7 tenths in the 1/8? Tough. A 7.99 1/8th mile would put you at a 12.30 or so in the 1/4.
Keep us informed!

I've got 17" Mickey Thompson drag radials and I consistantly pull 1.7 60 ft's. Better tires and learning to launch with them will give you anywhere between .4 to .6 improvement, even on the stock susp.
yea that the other thing i still got stock suspension.
And yes a better 60' on a colder night without my belt slippin at all will gimme 7 tenths. The car make between 370 and 400 horsepower i'd think i'd be able to run a 12.40 at least[&:]

Need to work on those 60 foot times, man. A front wheel drive car (SRT-4, MS3, etc...) can run 2.1's on stock 205 width street tires (been there, done that). With rear wheel drive, you should be at least 2.0's.
There is no reason that he can't pull a 1.7 60 foot on a set of better tires. That's and easy 7 tenth reduction right there. I think the car has a 7.9 in it pretty easy. Hell I make less hp than he dous and run 7.4-7.6 at 90-91mph

If he's posting his 1/8 time then chances are he doesn't go to a 1/4 mile track. Some unlucky people have to drive literally hours to get to one (I drive 35 minutes
).

, even though I've lost some races that I would have won if running the 1/8th[sm=headbang.gif].
