Anyone from South Florida?
There's a track Countyline Dragway that opened up in Febraury.
It was an old landing strip that they converted.
It's an 1/8th mile and it's part of the IHRA.
The reason it's not a 1/4th is because insurance says they need double the slowdown zone, and they don't have it, but hope to eventually build it.
But it's a great track. I'm there almost every saturday and seen awesome races.

here's the website for the track

I want to check it out too. I'm down in Miami. It just sucks that it is only the 1/8 mile, but it beats fighting traffic to go all the way up to Moroso, just to get rained out after only getting 3 runs in.

Us South Florida people should try to get something together to meet up at a track some time.

ya, I was upset when they opened it and then said they would keep it at 1/8. I guess it's still fun to run it and just use one of the online calcs to get an idea of your actual 1/4. This is my last week at work and starting Friday, I'm free so I plan on hitting a track or something cuz I need to put this car to use, lol.

Everytime i go I always see about 20-30 mustangs.
Every mustang imaginable
5.0 LX's, SVT Cobras, Saleens, Mach 1, even some of the new Shelbys.
And of course the most popular GT's
it's awesome to go.

Yeah, but my car is slow. I like to go up for Midnight Madness, that is when I feel it is worth the long drive. I just ordered some drag radials, so that should help. They'll be here in a week or so and I'm going to want to try them out.

For those who have been to the track, how's the track prep at Countyline?

haha it can't be that slow.

i've heard conflicting things about countyline. half the people swear that its the greatest prep ever, half the people say its not worth even driving 5 minutes out there.

Guess I'll have to give it a shot and make up my own mind. When I get my drag radials in, I'll hit you up to see if you want to head out there, and mabye we can get some other people to come too. If nothing else, we could make the trip to Moroso if the weather looks good.

The track prep is good.
The only thing is that the burnout box is so close to the starting line, so the tires will be kind of damp.
They're supposed to build a new burnout box.
But for the track itself, it's great, great traction, and they have the stickyglue that they heat on the track after afew hours of racing.
