I have posted here before about my friends 01 3.8L firebrid. Our goal was to crack 14's with very very very little work done. we came so so close with a 15.01 that I posted about last time. I just thought that I would give a little update since we went to the track again recently

We set out to do what we had wanted. His best MPH before was 91 MPH so we made a huge jump in MPH. We are very very happy. He hit a better ET with an even worse 60 foot then he had when he ran his 15 flat. The best part is that sunday he have a limited slip diff and 3.73 gears going in as well as HP tuner softwear that we will be tuning his car with. Our over all goal is 13.5's without touching the motor. A friend of ours in a 97 V6 just went 13.8 so we are trying to better that.. [:@] eventualy he is going to need a clutch and some drag radials to really do better.

The one running the 14.8 is someone that you don't know. His name is Jeremiah.
The one running the 13.8 is someone that I don't think you know but his name is TdaddyZ.

We really need to get caught up to him. He has A LOT more mods then Jeremiah so I really am interested to see what we can do when teh gears go in on sunday. We should hit the track wednesday. It's going to take some time using the Tuning software before we can squeze every ounce of power from it..

 

ah... i was thinkin, mike had a camaro v6 didn't he? His and seans looked a lot alike colorwise.

 

I usually run 13.5-13.6. If I saw an internally stock V6 keep up with me I would be extremely impressed.

 

Not long from now he should be running that. The clutch and tires are going to be the week point of the setup. He probably should have gone with 4.10 gears but oh wel.. What we want to do is beat the fastest V6 without touching the motor, then after that beat the fastest cam/head v6 (13.3 currently) with similar mods. We are WAY ahead of the game. It usualy takes them 2 or 3 times as many mods to get where we are now.

 

I'm installing his gears and Limited slip diffy tomarrow morning at work. We are going to get that set up, I need to re weld his cat (weld broke) and then just get his LCA's in the right hole and we will go back to the track (weather permiting) on wednesday for some sub 14.5 runs

 

guy around here with a stock "0$ in mods" ran a 14.4@95 mph. pretty sure it is a 00. it is a camaro 3.8 for sure. if u want i can give u the site he post on, and u can talk to him to see how he does it!
