went against a late model ss twice from a dead stop. dead even both times. however we shut down at around`60 b ein`on`a busy road and all.`im sure if we would have kept goin the ls1 woould have pulled me. I know the ls1's are a tick faster but s197's are way cooler lookin all day all the time.

 

what year roughly was the camaro cus everytime i;ve gone against a camaro or the camaro ss i;ve had no probably seeing them in my rear view

 

i think it was at least a 2000. ive smoked two base v8 camaros. my car is bone stock and an auto. i got smoked by a cobalt ss or a srt4 im not sure which. i was already doin 80 when i stomped on it and he(or she) just cruised right on by.

 

LS1's push up between 350-400 rwhp with cams and bolt on's. So watch out...

 

My buddies got an SS...dont know which year...but its one of the last years it was offered...and i can walk him all day long...had him by a second at the track...i think it might have even been more...

 

my friend keeps on trying to get me to race a late-model SS, but i'm completely stock except for lightweight rims and performance tires... i'd get smoked right? i've gota manual btw...

 

Never lost tooa Camaro when I was bone stock, and especially now! Love to eat BowTies for lunch and spit them out for dinner.

 

not if you can drive. he might have a length on you to 90 at best.
