Today I was coming out of the DMV(ironic place for a race) and here comes along a 94-95 black SVT cobra. He had tail lights, headlights, dual exhaust, a cowl hood the works. I was ahead of him, and at the next red light he comes right aside my left quarter. He starts revvin and green flashes. I stomped on it, AOD delay style, and he gets me until i reach 2nd. I can see him slowly falling behind until the next light. Pulls up ahead, says something like "Nice convertible ******, wasnt even trying!". Thats 3 for 3 in the last week.

 

The 94/95 cobras only have 240-245hp and they're heavier than you are. They moved the hp up to 305 in 96

I'm gonna say nice kill, but the guy really wasnt trying. You drive a high 14 second to low 15 second car, his is easily a low 14 second car at worst. Either that or he really sucked at driving.

 

a kill is a kill. when i had my srt4 i lost to a stock tibberon from light to light (probable to 35mph or so) because i damn near stalled it. srt = no lowend. good job, just dont get too cocky.

 

The 94-95 Cobra's are rated at ~240HP, but have read they are underrated by 25HP, and I am inclinded to beilve it. They have better heads/cam/intake than a GT, they also have better rocker arms, a 65mm T.B, among other things. Something had to be up, either he wasn't trying, he messed up (bogged it, missed a gear, etc.) or whatever, but I think he scwered up somewhere and tried to play it off.

 

im positive he was trying. i could see/hear the launch.

 

Right I agree he was trying, but something went wrong, I believe you bea thim, but on paper the Cobra should have won, so just don't be expecting to beat every one you encounter.

Jake- did you ever read the whole thread about fox vs. altima? I posted last with some suggestions that might help.
