I just got back from cruising around in my stang. And as i am going down the road, a 1g mitsu elcipse and a wrx pull up beside me. We all stop at the light and the people in the two cars are talking, and one of them looks over and yells mustangs are for ******* (you know). Anyways, the light turns green and we continue down the road. We stop at another light and the dude in the wrx is taunting me, so when the light turned green, we took off full throttle. We were about even off the line, but i dont think that he was really trying, Then he started getting on it and slowly passed me (we were both going all out by then). Then we slow down to the speed limit, and keep moving down the road. He gets in the turn lane and as im going by him, someone in their car yells "ford sucks". I bowed my head in shame and continued on. Just wait a few years from now, when my mustang gets turbocharged, then we'll see who's yelling "you suck". What do you think that I should have done? One thing that I hate is there attitude, the guy goes out and buys a subaru wrx (im assuming that it was a sti), and puts a couple of grand into upgrading it. Then goes out see's a stock V6 mustang and pretty much brags about his car when he only really beat my by a couple of links. On the other hand though, I don't really think he was trying that hard off the line, and we didn't go past 55 mph.

yea well they say ford sucks, ricers blow even more. Who do you hear get made fun of more, a guy with a classic style mustang, or a guy with a subaru that sounds like a blender going off when it takes off? my guess will be the ricer. And when it comes down to the line, if we had as much money as we needed and put it into our cars to see whos can go faster, ours would win, cus his would fall apart. RICERS BLOW

 

You are absolutely right. It was not very smart. However, it's not like we were flying down the road at 100mph. We only raced up to about 55 or so. But in the end your right.

 

I wouldn't even have bothered racing. Even if it wasn't an STI, even a lightly modded WRX would easily beat a stock V6. Same for the Eclipse.

 

55 mph or so... this is the kind of S*** that ignites "road rage". Tempting but still... try to avoid this kind of S***.

 

your right. I feel bad/stupid that i even did it in the first place. Deep down, i knew i was going to get smoked.

 

Because we all know that stock V6 is one of the slowest, most non-essential cars ever made right?
Hey man go through your post and count how many times you bag on the V6, I bet its 2 out of 5....

 

I came across a similiar incident today, going down the highway some kids in a Cobalt SS with a big ugly wing on the back were taunting people, speeding up and down and going in and out of cars, and I came rolling up. We were doing about 65-70 down the highway and I slowly worked my way next to him. 3 people in his car looked over at me, and I looked straight out my window at them and laughed, tapped the gas just a bit so they could hear me speed up and they let off the gas and back down a few car lengths behind me.

The moral of the story is, if you can't beat them, just make them think you can beat them by going nice and slow and smooth. If you smirk at them without stomping on the gas, then they just look like idiot ricers by gunning it up and down the street. Then you wait till you get some mods and smoke em

 

tell him his car is disgusting and ask if any hot ladies have ever been inside of it...
